I live in Butte, MT where the history is as rich as the copper, gold, silver and zinc that was mined from these mountains. The ethnic heritage brought by the miners and their families has created a genealogical treasure equal to the "Richest Hill on Earth".|

|Peter Hakze||John, Ella, Louis Van Dam, photos graves/headstone|
Hi Pat again,
Thanks a lot for the nice photos with clear captions. Ella has no headstone, but are her birth year and death year mentioned maybe in the cemetery administration? Louis' birth year 1890 on the common headstone with his brother John is wrong: it has to be 1889. I've seen meanwhile quite some more such errors in birth dates on grave markers in the USA. Do you have an explanation for these mistakes (which are incredible here in NL)?

Thanks. I created now a Find A Grave memorial for Ella and requested for a photo of her headstone.

Pat, I think we're both coming from the same place. The photo looks great, and as long as the original is also on there I'm fine with it. Thanks for all your help!

Pat, You're welcome! I too love to use Photoshop, but I hesitate to change old photos. I know they can look better but I still feel guilty about changing photographs, although I have cloned off some bird poop from some of the headstones :-) I love seeing those old headstones with the photos of immigrants; it's very emotional at times.

Thank you so much, Patricia, for taking the time to take a photo of Justice Freebourn's grave. It is much appreciated! ~ Rita

Didn't mean to overwhelm just wanted to get them all requested so someone didn't have to make multiple trips and so they were all ready to be done when it warms up. I really didn't expect to get anyone near the cemeteries until spring. Thanks. I do have several more but I will wait to send the other requests.
