|Dwight Byrd||RE: Photos on John Henry Byrd's memorial|
Great to hear from you...yes I love genealogy to...they are real people...some we knew and loved personally and some we've never met but share their DNA...
Yes I will do what you requested...
A few years back I volunteered as a member of the board of directors of the Sand Hill Cemetery Association....we have a great group of people serving on the board.
Here are a few things that have been done recently
1. We have bought a couple of additional acres to expand the cemetery to have room for additional family members
2. We hired a company to map the cemetery so now we have that data base and If someone wants to know where Mary Margaret Singleton is buried ...you can look her up and see that she is at section D row 13 grave 82
And near my grandfather J H Byrd sectionD row13 grave 81
3. We have also submitted and they just recently have approved our request to have the cemetery designated as a Texas Historic Cemetery... Once that is completed we will likely apply for a Texas Historical Marker to permanently designate the cemetery as historical.
4. We have had numerous highly successful people like your husband and you that have ties back to this area and the Simms Schools for example Jim T Lindsey who was the youngest Speaker of the House of Representatives of Texas
My brother John L Byrd Jr a member of the Senior Executive Service SES and numerous others who are buried at Sand Hill
We also have civil war veterans and a few slaves buried here and several unmarked graves.
Hope I didn't go on too long but thought I would share this info with you..hope you find it interesting.
|Larry Tally||Mildred Beasley|
I am transferring the memorial for Mildred to you this morning. Thank you for your help.
Thanks for the information and I have deleted my memorial for her. Sorry it took me so long (the holidays were crazy busy!).
|Susan M. Alexander||Heacocks|
I just wanted to thank you for all of your hard work. I just came across one of my Jonathan Heacocks and his family. Wow, lots of info that I did not have. It'll keep me busy for a while copying all of this down.
Thank you so much!

My father was III and brother is IV, according to our mother.

Actually that just arose earlier this week. I had 2 requests for same memorial. Same exact kinship just different branches. It sort of put me in a bind. That paragraph was not there before Tuesday. Still in a dilemma as what to do.

I believe Sheldon's memorial is correct. I found his mother and linked them. His mother's maiden name was Wheeler. The memorial marked Wheeler Stearns I was hesitant to delete since the death dates were so different. However, I couldn't find any evidence of a Wheeler Stearns online, so I deleted it. It could have just been a typo on the death date, and it was a duplicate.

Would you consider transferring Uncle Garvey to me? I am his great niece. He taught me how to milk a cow and I ran from his bull more than once...LOL..He was very important part of my childhood. Thank you for your consideration.
|Denzel Creecy||RE: Hall Transfers|
A dear friend of mine, who lives in New Boston took the photo for me so no, I don't wish to be credited. Thanks for asking!
