RE: Where are you living.
yes, I am living in Simms.
I got to looking for Maggie Singleton's burial site. When I saw the photo on her findagrave site I thought well that's where she is. However when I looked at the actual monument shown on her site it is not Mary Margaret Singleton Byrd Wright but it is Mary E Wright... E. L. Wright's first wife. I made a good clear photo where you can read the info on it. I'll send it to you or upload it to the Mary Margaret Singleton Byrd Wright site.

When I looked at our new database Mary Margaret Singleton Byrd Wright is not listed. I assume because they did not find a marker for her.
There is a marker for Grandma and Grandpa Singleton and right at the foot of Grandma Singleton's grave is a concrete marker without any info on it. It could be her don't know.

We are not publishing a book at this time but I agree we do need to get it "wright"

I do want to see if I can find William Powell Byrd

RE: Byrd
I don't know where William Powell Byrd is buried. A few years back I went to Tate County, MS and visited the genealogy library there in Senatobia, MS and I found a cemetery with a lot of Byrd's but did not find him....I didn't spend much time and I need to go back.

There is also a Singleton cemetery in the county and he might be buried there. Don't know need to do some more work ...I'd like to find him if possible.

RE: Photos on John Henry Byrd's memorial
Here is what we have in our database

Marie Wright, B 6/1/1914 D 9/17/1937 Section D Row 22 Grave 102

Infant Wright, B 9/17/1937 D 9/17/1937 Section D Row 22 Grave 100

The info is from the markers. Haven't looked to see if she is on find a grave but if she is I would be glad to take a photo of the marker for you.

Anna Moore's sister Rosie Leather Moore married Andrew Osburne Johnson so I have some Johnson family information but I did not find a connection to Marie Johnson Wright...but there are other Johnson families but I don't have info on them.

RE: Photos on John Henry Byrd's memorial
Great to hear from you...yes I love genealogy to...they are real people...some we knew and loved personally and some we've never met but share their DNA...
Yes I will do what you requested...
Some news:
A few years back I volunteered as a member of the board of directors of the Sand Hill Cemetery Association....we have a great group of people serving on the board.
Here are a few things that have been done recently
1. We have bought a couple of additional acres to expand the cemetery to have room for additional family members
2. We hired a company to map the cemetery so now we have that data base and If someone wants to know where Mary Margaret Singleton is buried can look her up and see that she is at section D row 13 grave 82
And near my grandfather J H Byrd sectionD row13 grave 81
3. We have also submitted and they just recently have approved our request to have the cemetery designated as a Texas Historic Cemetery... Once that is completed we will likely apply for a Texas Historical Marker to permanently designate the cemetery as historical.
4. We have had numerous highly successful people like your husband and you that have ties back to this area and the Simms Schools for example Jim T Lindsey who was the youngest Speaker of the House of Representatives of Texas
My brother John L Byrd Jr a member of the Senior Executive Service SES and numerous others who are buried at Sand Hill
We also have civil war veterans and a few slaves buried here and several unmarked graves.
Hope I didn't go on too long but thought I would share this info with you..hope you find it interesting.

Hi Doni,
I just wanted to thank you for all of your hard work. I just came across one of my Jonathan Heacocks and his family. Wow, lots of info that I did not have. It'll keep me busy for a while copying all of this down.
Thank you so much!
