I saw he lived with Lopez family, but wasn't for sure that was him. What a very sad story. There is a similar story in our family, but she was raised by an uncle and never knew her father's name. I pretty much figured out who the mother was, but that is where her line then ends not knowing the father's name. Chris

Hi Ann: As I suspected, the information had to come from a third party. I did some digging and did find an actual death date of Mar 9, 1914, and have updated his memorial. I also found his name in a death register on Familysearch.org. These death registers are browse able and not search able. He was listed in Book 2, page 190, if you ever want to try and look for it. Since it is just a register, it gives no parent names. He died of valvular heart disease. I've also updated his birth year to 1854, which is on his headstone and also borne out in the death register. He was 60 years old at time of death. Hope this information is helpful. Chris

Hi Ann: Sorry, but not sure where the information came from. It was probably a suggestion made by another submitter. If I would have found in the information in the CA death records, I would have included the full death date. That I why I believe it came as a suggestion. I don't find him in the CA Death Records. Sorry I'm not of more help. Chris

You are welcome!

The book I am referring to was done by the genealogical society in 1987. They carefully went through each cemetery in our county and documented every stone. Glendale cemetery is 38 acres, so walking the cemetery to find a single grave is almost impossible. The grave you are looking for may well be in the cemetery, but it appears there is no marker. Glendale Cemetery phone is 419864-6165. If they can give you a section (there are 25 of more sections), I will be happy to walk the section for you.

Hi, ok the photo is now upright. Not sure how it went on sideways but was able to fix it.
As far as cleaning it, when we go out 'hunting' for requests we generally don't take any cleaning supplies with us as we usually don't look for the older stones to much since majority of them are in very bad shape. This one just happen to catch our eye as we were walking in the section.
