Bio and Links
Bio Photo FIND A GRAVE IS A GREAT SITE! Margie has been doing family tree research for over FIFTY years - half a century! Her cemetery-loving mom, Doris (Kinkade) Shones, started taking her to cemeteries when she was 8 years old. Margie has spent several decades concentrating on Stickney, Kinkade, Franklin, and Beaver families.
Margie photographed over 2000 graves at Washington Veterans Home in Retsil, Washington. She has created over 800 biographies from their free online files at We have no relatives in this cemetery and want these veterans to be remembered for their service. Margie is a Navy and Air Force veteran; Bob served in the Army.
I will do my best to help make any memorial as complete as possible. DigitalArchives.Wa.Gov is a FREE site for looking up WA state records and Google has a site for select Online newspapers that is also free. If I come across an obit when reading old papers, I will try and find that person at findagrave and send a correction; I am not usually related. I will cite the newspaper, date and page. There is also no need to ask permission for using any of my 2800+ grave photos - I consider them a public service and you can use them in your family history without crediting me. I also do not need credit for any obits as I always source the paper.

Happy Graving!

Thank you for the transfer. I did not expect you to transfer so it was a pleasant surprise. I am very involved with Daughters of the Union and will take good care of his site. I am the registrar for our chapter here in OK. JMR

Mary Nolan Stone
Margie, did you leave the biography for Mary Nolan Stone? She is also my great great great grandmother. Her daughter Sarah married my gg gf William Luther Walker. I have searched records but did not find a record of Mary's father William Nolan giving permission for her marriage to John Stone. If you could tell me where you found this record, I would very much appreciate it. There were photographs of Two Bayou Church and cemetery in the snow on the Ouachita County Historical Society Facebook page this winter. They were beautiful!

Helena Aylmore
Thank you Margie and Bob.
Find A Grave Memorial# 37279521

Helena Aylmore (Day) (also known as Ellen) is my great great grandmother. South Australia was founded in 1836. She migrated to Adelaide South Australia in 1864 and married George Hubbard jnr. She was a very brave young single woman to travel from England on a sailing ship around South Africa, over 3 months at sea. She was an early settler, a colonist here in South Australia. There are generations of the Hubbard family that come from her marriage here to George Hubbard.

This is the church where she married George Hubbard. My parents were also married there.

A family tree with Helena is here:

You are welcome to add to the information on Find A Grave that she was a colonist to Adelaide, South Australia and married George Hubbard jnr

Here is a link how I traced her name from Hubbard to Aylmore in America.

The Advertiser (newspaper) 24 May 1938 page 12

I wish I had a picture of her, and maybe some other details will surface yet.

The internet is a wonderful thing.

Emil Francis Beaver
I am interested in the photo posted of Emil in a race car. Do you know if this car was a Chadwick? Do you have any information on this car or photo? Thanks!

Thank you for transferring
Margie and Bob-
Thank you for transferring this memorial to me, a member of the Keckeisen family. I never knew about Captain Alice Keckeisen until I began doing my Keckeisen family tree. I am proud that she was part of our Keckeisen family, although she descends from a brother of my 3rd great grandfather. We Keckeisen cousins have had some difficult times getting transfers accomplished, even with family members well within Find-A-Grave's policies, so your action will give us greater faith in the sensitivity of other Find-A-Grave members. Many thanks.

RE: Retsil
After thinking about it, I would be glad to take over keeping the cemetery up to date. If that would help you out, since I reside closer to it then you and could possibly get to both it and the library more often. I will leave that decision up to you, but if you wish for me to do that for you I would be glad to do it.
