I enjoy genealogy and this is how I came about this website. I have received pictures from the 1600's to the early 1900's. I was overjoyed. I wanted to share and give someone else the same pleasure.
I am a descent of Samuel Deacon Chapin of Springfield, Ma. Also, connected to the Mayflower. What a joy to see how our wonderful country was founded from family research. I am also working on our family tree of First Families of Levi Greene/Burch/Mayflower Robinson/Kellogg/Hathaway-Oregon Trail/Failing (Palatine Settlers) also first families and Mussina.
If you wish for me to transfer a memorial over please just let me know.

RE: Old Scotland Cemetery North Scotland CT
Hi,
Thanks so much for letting me know...I just posted the gravestone photos of Roxana. Hers is not the best gravestone as it has sunk into the ground and is difficult to read. There are other memorial pages...I can't remember the names...that were created by you that either have new gravestone photos or I retook some that were not the clearest.

Good luck with your schooling...and genealogy,
Sara

Old Scotland Cemetery North Scotland CT
Hi,
Sorry to make this more complicated for you...but Roxanna Robinson d 1843 is buried right next to her husband Eliel d 1823 in Old Scotland Cemetery North.

I have been trying to document both cemeteries and take any gravestone photographs that are not taken) and noticed that you have made one burial in a separate cemetery just called Old Scotland Cemetery. Let me explain...to differentiate between the 2 cemeteries (because New Scotland Cemetery South is south of Old Scotland Cemetery North) they are referred to as New Scotland Cemetery South (Hale's 511-2 or New Scotland Cemetery) and Old Scotland Cemetery North (Hale's 511-1 or Old Scotland Cemetery).

This is different than what Hale referred to the cemeteries as in the 1930's..but it was getting confusing as to which cemetery was which...so North and South were added.

Let me know if you have any questions...thanks,
Sara

eliel robinson memorial #99703114
hello mary:

thanks for being a volunteer for find-a-grave.
there is an error in the above memorial as follows.there are 2 cemeteries in scotland conn. called "old scotland cemetery".one is called just "old scotland cemetery" which is included in the "hale collection of conn.cemetery inscriptions"and the 2nd is "old scotland cemetery north" which is not included in the"hale collection".
you have eliel robinson my 3rd great-grandfather and his wife roxanna buried in the "old scotland cemetery north" when in fact they are buried in the "old scotland cemetery" according to the "hale collection".
additional or correcting information is that eliel was born 24 sept.1768.which would make his age at death in 1823 as @55 yrs.not 50 yrs.that could be a typo in the "hale collection".based on her age at death 68yrs on 24 dec. 1843 her year of birth is @1775.her maiden name was roxanna spafford and they were marr. @1792.
this additional info was obtained from the robinson genealogy published by the robinson family society and my own research.

thanks again,william e. goss

Buried: Rose #1
County/State: Rensselaer, NY

Mary,

Saw where you asked to have memorials #49428812 & 49428903 transferred to you. Do you have any sources for the John and Abigail? Their children married into my family.

Thank you.
Diana

RE: Wrong Picture-Mussina
I put the photo of the large plot marker up with the small one so if someone goes looking for the grave, they can't miss that huge thing! That cemetery has over 60,000 burials in it!
