You can now access the Winton Cemetery map on your computer and find where your loved one is buried. First bring up their website on your computer:
https://www.wintoncemeterydistrict.net/
Click on Burial Search, type in the surname you are looking for. (The name you type has to be exactly the same as they have it, or it won't come up, so use just the last name) Click on Search. Several names may come up. Choose the one you want. On the Detail Page you can see which Block and Lot they are buried in. Click on Locate on Map. Then slowly zoom in until you can read the name on the plots. You can see who they are buried next to. When at the cemetery, in the row that your person is buried in, find the name by the road and follow the names to where your loved one is buried. Please note that not all names on the map have a tombstone. You may have to look for the next name in that row if the first one doesn't have a stone.
If you are local, you can scan the code on your cell phone to use this map in person. The code is posted at the office is posted through-out the cemetery.

I grew up in the Winton area, graduated from Winton Grammar School in 1952.
I was taking requests for tombstone pictures, but on August 8, 2022, I had a small stroke. I am more unsteady on my feet and have to use my walker at the cemetery.
I no longer take photos from the 'request photo" list.

As of December 18, 2021 there were 12,674 people interred in the Winton Cemetery. So far volunteers have created 8,500+ memorials at Find a Grave. If you don't find the name you are looking for, it doesn't mean they are not buried there. Some graves do not have a tombstone, but if there is no picture of one with their memorial, that doesn't mean there isn't one.

I have taken 4,500+ photos since 2012 at the Winton Cemetery which I uploaded to flickr. They are under the name of Winton Cemetery Photos. https://www.flickr.com/photos/winton_historical_society/
Click on albums to look for a surname. They are in alphabetical order within the folders. Click on their picture to see if there is a link to their memorial at Find A Grave.

I'm interested in local history. Co-wrote the book, "Memories of Winton 1911-1950." The book is out of print, but it is available at www.lulu.com in the PDF format.
I was a member of the Winton Historical Society for 20 years. My daughter created a website: https://wintonhistoricalsociety.wordpress.com/
There are a lot of Winton School class pictures from 1912 thru 1969 with some 1980s, plus all of the society's newsletters have been uploaded there. They can be downloaded or read online. All the class pictures we were able to find are uploaded. They can be downloaded also. Links to other Find a Grave for cemeteries in Merced County are there, plus other useful links.

I have purchased the Grandma file with more than 1,407,000 persons of Mennonite background. This is very helpful at Find A Grave for connections, dates of birth, marriage, death and places of events. The Grandma file is produced by the California Mennonite Historical Society. http://www.calmenno.org/index.htm
I have added pictures to memorials managed by other people, some are of tombstones and some are personal. If you want the pictures removed, please let me know and I will delete them. Also, if you find any errors or want additional information added, please let me know. If you are not a volunteer, you can email me. Thank you.
Just recently I have posted old obituaries as photos, if you want them removed, let me know.
My wonderful granddaughter. Amanda (Mandy Johnston) Pearson passed away on December 11, 2015. Her memorial is not attached to a cemetery, but you can find it here: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/156206022/amanda-pearson
Mandy and her grandpa (my husband) John C. Richards were very close. His memorial is here: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/107672537/john-c-richards
