I have been researching our roots for many years. There is something very satisfying in discovering all about my family history; and there is always more to learn! |
As well as its primary purpose being a grave registration site, FindAGrave is a wonderful way to memorialize our ancestors, and a great genealogical resource. My husband and I enjoy contributing to this website, honoring those who have gone before us, and helping others to find their long lost family.
We respect the guidelines set forth for this website.
We will be happy to add proper info and links to memorials that are sent via the EDIT tab on the memorial. We do not link to burial unknowns. We do not add (copy & paste) obituaries that are less than 70 years in the past. We will glean information from them to add to the bio section of the memorial. Please cite the source of the obituary information being sent to us. Please DO NOT ADD SCANNED OBITUARIES/NEWSPAPER ARTICLES to the photo slots on any memorials that we maintain, PER FindAGrave POLICIES.
Transfer requests will be made for direct family members, within 4 generations, as set by the guidelines.
Please make all SACs and transfer requests through the edit tab on the memorial itself.
All photos that we post are bound by copyright rules. Do not take any of them for your own use, neither on this website, nor anywhere else. Do not alter them for re-posting here, nor anywhere else. Thank you :)

|Bruce||Townsend Brown Obituary|
Please add the 1881 obituary for my wife's 3-times great grandfather.
The Daily Local News, West Chester, Chester County, Pa.
September 8, 1881
Death of Townsend Brown- Townsend Brown died yesterday afternoon at half past four o'clock, at his residence on East Market street, aged sixty years, 10 months and 23 days. He has been a sufferer for many years, being troubled with calculus, and at times his pains were very great.
He was not fit to go soldiering but his patriotism got the better of his judgement and he enlisted in the 124 Pennsylvania Volunteers, and was mustered in on August 8, 1862, at Camp Curtin, near Harrisburg. His health was not sufficient to endure the fatigues of camp and march, and it was not long before he was obliged to go to the hospital. He managed to do light duty when able to be around but at length it was deemed best to send him home and he was therefore discharged on the Surgeon's certificate, March 31, 1863. He did all that a brave and patriotic man could do in his situation, and left the ranks with a good record for devotion to his country and a willingness to do any duty assigned him. About ten weeks since his disease assume an aggravated form, and since that time he has been gradually sinking. He expressed his willingness and readiness to die saying that he had given up all, and could trust himself in the Lord's hands. He spoke calmly on the subject of his approaching death. Yesterday morning he was rational, but soon after he sank into a stupor from which he did not arouse. His funeral will take place t 4 o'clock next Saturday afternoon from his late residence. He was a member of McCall Post G.A.R., and will be buried with Post Honors.

As it turns out by policy, the web site will not be citing the photographs. If you still want to add it, you can go to the above site and submit it.
Sorry for the confusion. There is a new file manager and the policy changed from the previous unbeknownst to me.

I must be losing my mind! The Bayard Renninger I am looking for died in Oct 1966 but was born in 1886.

I resent my edits for Kathryn Bertolet. I do not know why it was declined?
I was hoping that the tone might have a first name on it but such is life,
Thanks for taking the effort to try and get a photograph

|Marina||RE: Yocom in Saint Luke's Cemetery|
Thank you for deleting the Yocom memorial pages from Saint Luke's Cemetery. Now could you please add the (optional) marriage dates to the wives memorial pages at Charles Evans Cemetery to put them in proper order Florence # 106288557 in 1904 and Elizabeth # 106288532 in 1914. Or I would appreciate it if you could transfer them and George # 106288543 to me as I have more family to link and Edits to add. I appreciate your help. Marina #46871120
