I have been researching our roots for many years. There is something very satisfying in discovering all about my family history; and there is always more to learn! |
As well as its primary purpose being a grave registration site, FindAGrave is a wonderful way to memorialize our ancestors, and a great genealogical resource. My husband and I enjoy contributing to this website, honoring those who have gone before us, and helping others to find their long lost family.
We respect the guidelines set forth for this website.
We will be happy to add proper info and links to memorials. We do not link to burial unknowns. We do not add (copy & paste) obituaries that are less than 70 years in the past. We will glean information from them to add to the bio section of the memorial. Please cite the source of the obituary information being sent to us.
Transfer requests will be made for direct family members, within 4 generations, as set by the guidelines.
Please make all SACs and transfer requests through the edit tab on the memorial itself.
All photos that we post are bound by copyright rules. Do not take any of them for your own use, neither on this website, nor anywhere else. Do not alter them for re-posting here, nor anywhere else. Thank you :)

|Janis Tomko||Horace Nagle|
Hello. I got your request to change the birth date for Horace Nagle to 8 Jan 1860. (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=135817383) Before I change it I was wondering if you could please provide a source. The sources I have for his birth date are his baptismal record which gives the date 8 Jan 1859 and his PA death cert which gives a conflicting date of 8 Jan 1861. I realize that neither of these matches the tombstone, which has the year 1860 - but no exact date. In cases such as this, I tend to give more credence to the baptismal record as it was created closer in time to the event of the birth. If you have found a source giving the date 8 Jan 1860, please let me know. This is a relative of mine and I would like the information to be accurate. I am particularly interested because a Jan 1860 would call into question the birth of his younger brother, which according to the source I have is 1 Sep 1860. Thanks for your help with this family.

|Mary Arvidson||Mt Carmel Cem-Ann & Harry McCluskey|
Hi-I've posted a picture of Harry McCluskey's gravesite. There is no headstone. Ann McCluskey cannot be found on the Chicago Archdiocese database but the database is not always correct. You may want to give the office at Mt Carmel a call to see if Ann is buried with Harry. They can check the actual lot cards. Their phone is 708-449-8300...Mary
