My wife Sandy and I have been actively involved in hunting for our ancestors for nearly 50 years. It is a good thing we started young. We have searched archives, libraries, and cemeteries across the country. We have travelled abroad to England, Norway and Germany to continue our search. In 2002, I published a book on my Strother ancestry. Presently, I am working on another book that will encompass ancestors on all family lines for both Sandy and me.
When not working on genealogy, I enjoy hiking in the Arizona desert. It is more beautiful than I can describe and great exercise. I play golf (high handicap), another activity to get me outside. I love good food and wine, old movies and my bourbon. Retired life is good!
Eleonore Massotti 115244482 Is this your family? I created a memorial, took photos, linked etc...discovered afterwards there was the memorial you created. Your birth and death dates were 1912-1930 instead of 1930-2012, which is what the marker has and why I didn't catch the original.
If your family, I can transfer to you, and let you keep the one you choose. Mine has additional photos, and linkage.
I have no relationship to this person, just working the section this marker was in.
Johann Heyde will and grave Edward, I just now found your transcription of Johann Heyde’s (John Hidy's) last will and testament that you entered to the Find a Grave site on June 14, 2012. I appreciate the work you did to make this available, and found it very interesting. Johann is my gggg grandfather. I am planning a trip this winter to Highland County, Virginia to visit Johann’s grave. It appears to me that you have been there. I am having some difficulty finding precise directions to the Heyde Cemetery and some indication of how one gets permission to access the private land on which it is located. I have found directions at two different sites on the Internet, but they are conflicting, and have obvious errors that leave one guessing. I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide me with this. Jim Hidy
80411810 Engeset Hello, may we please have your permission to use your picture(s) in our family tree. We do cite both the photographer and Find A Grave as our source for pictures we're allowed to do. We like others to know who truly deserves the credit. Thank you so much for considering our request. S
