RE: Walnut Grove Cemetery/Hawley
Hi Susan..

Please don't go out of your way..if you are headed there for your own research, I would appreciate a look around at Walnut Grove, but please don't feel obligated to do my searching for me!

Not even sure if Jeremiah Crabb is there..but as I mentioned, his wife Lucretia Case Crabb is there as our their two sons, George and Philetus Crabb.. So I was hoping Jeremiah might be too!

If you see Lucretia's headstone, I would love a photo..but again, no rush and please don't feel obligated to do this.

I just appreciate your calling and finding out there are "no records" for Walnut Grove..grrh..story of my genealogy life! Ha!
Best,
Sue

Thank you Susan..appreciate your prompt reply!
My ancestor, Lucretia Case CRABB is buried in Walnut Grove Cem. Hawley..as well as two of her sons..George W. and Philetus(Leet) Crabb.

I am having no luck finding her husband
Jeremiah Crabb! He was last found in 1880 census and had to have passed before she did in 1898. They lived in Hawley. Son's worked for the railroad. Her obit stated she was a widow in 1898

If you are ever in Hawley taking photo's..maybe you could check for a headstone in Walnut Grove.

I added Lucretia Crabb's name to find a grave..as well as the son's.

And thank you again for your help!!

Walnut Grove Cemetery/Hawley
Susan..hope you can help. I am not from the area of Hawley, but was wondering if you knew where to write for grave records? Or is there an office on the grounds of Walnut Grove Cem. that I could call?

Thank you..

Sue

Susan:

My brother and myself deeply appreciate, and want too thank you, for taking this picture. We both live far away from Pennsylvania, and this means the world to both of us.

Sincerely,

John Giles Jr.

Thanks for the additional picture. I will keep them both up! Glad someone cleaned it up, it had been laying face down in the dirt prior to my taking the picture. No, I wasn't the one who flipped it over, but you can see the outline of where it had been.

Find A Grave Memorial# 57839575
Susan,

I am not sure how the grave memorial pictures are selected for this site but want to say thank you for posting this wonderful picture. Susan was my sister. She was born the same year as me. She lived a few days and when she passed on. My father had to put his grief aside and lay Susan in her casket next to him on the seat of the family station wagon where both of them traveled from New York through a blizzard to Pa. so she could be laid to rest in peace with family.
Also listed on the grave marker is my Grandma (Hazel) and Grandpa (Charles) whom I received my middle name. Along with them my grandma's son Russel, who like Susan died very young.
Although I never had the chance to meet her I miss her dearly and think of her. My father passed in 2003. I am sure they are together with Grandma and Grandpa and Russel as well as all the remaining family members who have passed, as they wait for us to join them when our time on this earth is complete.
Thank you again for posting this wonderful picture. God bless you.
Take care,
R.C. Tanner

RE: Orchards at Smith Hill Cemetery
Thanks, Susan. I located the Christianville Cemetery off Sands Creek Road outside of Hancock this week. I have family members there. It's small with about 20 graves or so. I didn't find ithe cemetery on FindAGrave so plan to add it. However, some of the graves are in bad shape and it will take someone with tracing paper and charcoal to be able to decipher them. I'll post what I can but since I am not local, I hope to connect with someone who will go there and document all the graves. Thanks for the documentation on the other cemetery. It's nice to be able to show the elders the pics. Means a lot to them. Peace,
Martha
