I grew up steeped in family history and honor, finding out years later it's actually called genealogy. Raised by my grandparents, we always had Sunday dinner with aunts, uncles, and cousins and in those days, we indeed used those titles--Aunt Dorothy, Uncle Floyd, Cousin Donald, and Cousin Jeff were among my faves! On Decoration Day (now known as Memorial Day), we always spent the day going to cemeteries, leaving flowers and flags and recounting stories and history.
I'm one of the remaining family historians and am so grateful for the awesome research and record-keeping available through today's technology. I'm sure that one of my kids or grandkids will take over for me one day and find the FindAGrave website as fantastic as I have!
I am researching primarily Welborn (Wellborn), Overton, Wright, Dillman, Jackson, Bradfield, Chatten, Forbes, Adams, Pugsley, Mercer, Rutledge, Robertson, Dill, but am interested in many others as branches occur.
Thanks to all who have posted memorials--I've found lots of relatives! If I've posted a memorial that you would like to maintain, just let me know and I can get it transferred to you. Thanks to all!
