I got into genealogy in 2007 and I just love it. The main families I'm researching are: Powers, Bell, Benford, Warren, and McIntosh on my father's side and Hawk, Herndon, Dunlap, Lunsford, and Davis on my mother's side. I will gladly share any information I have.|

Janie, thanks for the newspaper obituary for Lucy Orene Hamrick McWhorter. Using the obituary I added her middle and maiden name. I also added her birth/death date and linked with her parents. Do you know if her brothers are at this cemetery? Thanks again.

JANIE, THANKS FOR THE INFO ON HIM. HE WAS MY MOTHERS IST COUSIN. I JUST HADN'T GOT AROUND TO UPDATING ALL THE INFO ON HIM. I HAVE A LOT, BUT YOU HAVE ADDED SO MUCH MORE. BY THE WAY HIS FATHER CHARLES AMERICUS WHITE DIED IN DEC 1911 FROM RABIES. I HAVE AND OLD NEWSPAPER ARTICLE ABOUT HIS DEATH. HIS FATHER DIED IN THE SAME HOUSE WHERE HHIS SON WAS BORN ON THE SAME DAY. HE HAD AN OLDER SISTER AND BROTHER. THEY WERE ALL SMALL AND WOULDN'T HAVE REMEMBERED HIM.

Hi Janie: Thanks a million for all the photos you have taken and posted, and the Memorials you have created or enhanced with additional information. I am particularly pleased that you found and sent me the Obituary for my good friend, Joe Whit Walker. Joe Whit didn't let the fact that Polio shriveled his left leg in the 1950's stop him from accomplishing great things!

Good idea...glad you are going to do that as all that info you added needs to be saved.

Thanks for pointing that out. I will be checking with the cemetery office (both San Marcos and Escondido are in the same district) sometime this week to verify which cemetery he is in. I suspect I mixed up the photos.
Yes, I have been to both cemeteries and each memorial that I created is in the correct cemetery. It appears to me that Antioch cemetery is a small black cemetery, and Antioch Baptist Church is/was a white church cemetery. This was several years ago, and I think I remember telling the person who placed memorials in the wrong cemetery about it, but never followed up to see if they did anything about it. I can't force them to place them in the correct cemetery. I'm thinking that they got the info on line and placed them in the wrong cemetery by mistake. For the small Antioch cemetery, I took photos of every marker that I could see, however, there may be many without markers. Not sure what to tell you, only that all of mine are correct, in fact when I realized that there were two cemeteries with the same name so close to each other, I created Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery to try to sort it out. I think this person placed Antioch Baptist Church people in the Antioch cemetery, because it was the only Antioch cemetery in Henry Co on Find A Grave at the time.

Thank you for adding the bio on SGT Crawford. In my spare time, I research the individual soldiers, sailors, marines, and airman who fought and died during the many conflicts our nation as went through. Right now, I am working on those interned in the Manila American cemetery. Being an old soldier, myself ... they deserve to have their stories told and it is my honor to help them share their lives, and sadly ... their deaths. Thank you for adding the information and thank you for all you do being a findagrave volunteer =D May your everydays be filled with many Irish Blessings. Slainte!
