Canterbury Cemetary/White's Creek
Hi, I noticed that you had an open request for this cemetery. This is my family's cemetery. I have pictures of everyone in there because we drive up there and clean it up. I'm going to look for my pictures but the family is actually going up this weekend to do the annual clean-up. SO, if I can't find them, I will get more taken. I'm not sure how to upload them to here since I just found this site.
Any help would be great,

RE: Geneva Wright DeHorty
You are very welcome.
I am glad you did not call the cemetery. Neat. That is one less thing they will have to look up. The staff there is always real busy and I do whatever I can to try to keep from pestering them anymore than I absolutely have to.

Geneva Wright DeHorty
I found Geneva. :-]
I can't believe what happened today. Somebody put in a request for a picture of Edna Pell's grave. There was already a picture on the page but not a very good one so I assumed they wanted a better picture.
The picture had a location on Edna's page in the border of the stone, of Lot 60, grave 1. I got the brilliant idea to go looking in section after section after section to look at each Lot 60 to see if I could find Edna's stone. There are about 525 acres in this cemetery. There are, I think, 33 sections in the cemetery. I was not sure if I would find her that way before I would run out of energy. The first section I tried looking in I got it into my head that Edna's stone was in Lot 30. Why I do not know. I tried reminding myself when I got out of the car that this stone I was looking for was in Lot 60, NOT, Lot 30. As soon as I walked away from my car I headed right straight to look for Lot 30!! Groan. I got to Lot 30 and who is there? Geneva!! I could hardly believe my eyes! Then, when I saw her stone and was going wowwww! I don't believe this, THEN, I remembered I was not supposed to be looking for Lot 30 I was supposed to look for Lot 60. I went and found Lot 60 and it was not the right person. The very next section I went looking for Edna in, in Lot 60 of that section, I found her! :-] What an amazing day!
That is how I found Geneva today. I had a feeling like the Lord wanted to help me find that stone for Geneva and led me to it!
Geneva is a loooooong ways from where her husband was buried.
You said you were going to call the cemetery to ask where Geneva is. I don't know if you did that yet?

RE: Vinton and Sarah (Crawford) Pemberton
The picture I took is the only Pemberton stone in Section 15. When I looked up Vinton & Sarah, their plots are side by side #268 and 269. I show Clinton to be in Section 15 plot#314. I believe the obelisk that is normally on stones like this is missing. Section 15 is a very old section and the cemetery does not have a map of it--it was destroyed many years ago. Based on most of the obelisks having wife on one side and husband on the other, I am guessing that this stone is for the husband and wife. If I can answer any other questions, let me know.

RE: Photo Request Leatherwood
The reason I didn't do that is because there is no death date on their stone. Was he buried somewhere else?

Photo Request Leatherwood

I have made a special trip to Leatherwood from Michigan. I looked for Marena and Steve McGuire's marker but I couldn't find it. I know they are suppose to be there and the Cemetery is small. There were three of us looking but none of use could find them. Marena would be my GG Grandmother. I have claimed two of your photo request and as soon as I get home I will upload it for you.

You are so welcome! I didn't even know there was a request until I posted the picture. I have been to Harmony many times and some how had missed this one. Glad I found it.

R.E.Baird Follow-Up
Hi Ann, Please take a look at the memorial page for R.E. Baird #104822273 when you have a chance.

I went back to the cemetery this afternoon while I was out for a bike ride to check on the inscription on the gravestone with "G.W. BAIRD" on the base.

I provided an update to the original photo to included the specifics of the inscription.

The inscription reads: R.E.BAIRD / BORN / Aug 7, 1789 / DIED / Feb. 1, 1880 /

Interesting . . . . even though G.W.BAIRD is on the base of the gravestone, the inscription provides the info for R.E BAIRD. And, is in addition to the gravestone which includes only his initials, R.E.B.

Greetings from Wisconsin - Oak Hill Cemetery, Winnebago Co
Hi - Your requests have been fulfilled for BAIRD. I noticed a few others in the cemetery with the BAIRD last name and also took pix. I'll be able to post the additional pix later this evening. Hope these pix help with your family research. Winter will soon be here in WI :( so I am enjoying the beautiful weather while it lasts:) !
