When a distant relative, Sarah Locklin Taylor (3rd Cousin, 1x removed) told me about FAG and I was able to trace my people based on her contributions, I decided to jump on the bandwagon. |
I am concentrating on south Cobb County, Douglas Co and old Campbell Co in Ga. as well as Berry/Pearson and related families in Hancock Co Ga and the Barge family. And in Texas, the Campbell Family.
So there is no confusion, please suggest your corrections through the Edit tab on the memorial, not on my profile page.
I respectfully request that if you have changes or additions to a memorial that I created, biographical information or an obituary, please do not leave the information in the flower/token section of the memorial. Instead, please use the Edit tab and send the information to me to include.
If you send a correction or suggestion and I have no way to contact you for clarification (no email or messages disabled) chances are the edit will not be made by me.
I will transfer out of guidelines unless the individual is my family tree or a family I am currently researching.
I rarely visit my profile page. Thanks!!

Note added as suggested, correcting mother to exclude Jane, and add Sarah.
|Kristy Lail||RE: Mayweather Family Cemetery Devereux|
No need to transfer them to me. We have hunting property nearby and were exploring the area last weekend. We happened upon the Mayweather cemetery and my husband realized that they are the relatives of someone who works for him! She had mentioned in the past that her family was from Hancock Co. She is very excited to learn where they are buried and has started looking into her ancestry!

I am working on my family tree and I got to a Sarah Ann Mosley 1821-1880 I believe she's the daughter of Samuel G. Mosley # 36589430 I just can't find anything concrete to back it up.

We may not know for sure that she died in 1866, but a letter written by her daughter in October 1862 says "mother is doing better than she has in some time." So she was still alive then. When we ordered that marker, we had to have a source for such an exact date (i.e. including month and day) -- I'm just trying to find what our source was. I know we didn't pick it out of thin air.

Age 89 years old.
|Dave Robison||Richard Grantham Sr|
Your memorial to Richard Grantham states that he is your 5th great grandfather. Well, I'd like to introduce myself! My name is Dave Robison. I've been a Find A Grave volunteer for just over 12 years. In updating my tree and looking for ancestors for my SAR application, I came across your entry. Richard Grantham Sr is my 5th great grandfaher making us 4th cousins once removed. Richard's daughter Tabitha married my 4th ggrandfather, Hezekiah Robertson/Robison/Robinson. Tabitha was his sister-in-law as his first wife was Richard's elder daughter Anne. Anne died after Hezekiah's service in the East Tennessee Volunteers during the War of 1812 and, with 2 children, he married his sister-in-law Tabitha with whom he had 10 more children! Feel free to contact me at email@example.com anytime. I have a few documents that may be of interest to you.

You must be kin to the Peacocks, too. Would love to talk with you sometime and compare notes on our relatives. Love all the pictures you have added. Peacock is one of my direct lines - (Grandmother).

His widow's pension application cites 20th GA but there is also a record for him in Co. K of the 41st Georgia. Captured and paroled at Vicksburg July 1863. Since he died at home on furlough (because of disease), he is indeed likely buried at Salt Springs -- but has no inscribed marker. He and my 2nd great grandfather were first cousins.

I located the grave of his child in an overgrown part of the Campbellton Church cemetry and put it on Find A Grave. That section is on a small rise close to the white church building and is almost totally overgrown with weeds. The child's marker and one other of another child are barely visible. I am curious about this family and their abandoned cemetery. Do you know anything about him or his wife? other siblings?
