Memorial # 51909106
Hello again, I was just going through and doing some "updating" on my lunch break and realized that I missed one. Can I get this one transferred as well?? Thanks so much! Patrick

RE: 104566337
I do remember this. In fact, I vaguely remember her from the restaurant. Very sad. I remember that George Lasater reopened the case some years after her disappearance, but it went nowhere to my knowledge. I did come up with the following links that sort of "outline" the events. Thought they might be of some use for posting???

RE: I wonder
Glad that you included it. I ran a check of the local and state death records for that year, and nothing there either (at least that would indicate a baby in the lake). There has to be more to this sad story. Will try to think of some different angles and will add this to my list for lookups the next time in Charlevoix as well.

Heading to bed, but thank you again and great to chat with you too! Keep up the good work!! :)

Many thanks for the transfers...
That was really kind of you to do. I promise I will do my best to quickly get them updated, etc. There is one last one, that I actually made an error on. I created Carl Skornia's memorial, then noticed that you have one.. but you have him as Earl. Can you transfer that and then I'll just combine the two and delete mine? His is: 51909146

Thank you again!! This is REALLY going to help us... and all before the press releases go out! The event is December 13th at Dyer Cemetery. Would love to see you there.

RE: I wonder
Well, now I am REALLY stumped. Nothing in the Petoskey newspapers either. Sometimes tragic news or deaths would get reported there, shortly after the fact. Nothing though. This is becoming a real mystery, huh? Did you set up a memorial for the baby? If so, let me know the number, as well as any other details you might have. Would like to delve into it further. No clue at all on a name, huh??

RE: I wonder
Now, you would think that THIS would make front page news, wouldn't you?? I find nothing in the June 28th issue, and unfortunately the July 2 issue is missing... probably the one that held all the details too, that would be my luck. Have you checked the Petoskey papers at all? Where was the body washed up at?? Or was in found ON the water? What location? Now you have me intrigued.

RE: And and
Same here. I used that article in one of the genealogical society newsletters in 2009. Not even in Charlevoix County, but I was always so interested in the location and back story growing up, I just thought it was neat. Then noticed that you had the memorial on your page. Very cool! :)

RE: Bay Township Veterans Project
If you really don't mind transferring them, it would make it a whole lot easier. I know that is a lot to ask though. :(

I did the same thing by the way... I can't remember where we were, but after the fact, I said to my mother, "I think that was Tim and my friend who I don't know her first name from the computer!" LOL Funny, I remembered that after my last message was sent.

I'm really excited about this project. As usual, everyone thought that everyone else had "the list" and in the end, few had much of anything. Once I get the last of the information compiled, I think it will just be trying to locate photographs of as many as possible.

Thank you again for working with me on this. I'll never know how you get so much accomplished! :)

Oh... before I forget... I have access to the Boyne City newspapers from 1969 back to the beginning (minus one 6 year section), here at home, all winter long! So, I'll be sending you lots of obituary transcriptions! :)
