I am a seventh generation Rhode Islander. I have been researching my family history for about 20 years now and am starting to explore branches of my families not just direct lines. When my mother passed away I started compiling cemetary records for this website, that I discovered while searching family records on line. I was brought up to respect and enjoy cemeteries. Particularly the old Swedish cemetary my mother is now buried in. It was a place we visited to care for the gravesites and keep connected to generations gone by. They are a connection to our past and history.
RE: Phebe Burke You're very welcome! A few of us have begun to dig back into the parents' lineage due to the RI Statewide Cemetery Cleanup Day that just occurred on the 16th. Her sister Sarah's stone was featured in some of the photos from Johnston JN028 and that sparked the conversation.
RE: Linda Burke Thank you for the reply. I have contacted my Cicione cousin for further info about that branch, and I've, just today, created the memorial for my uncle William Cicione. Perhaps there will be a connection between Linda and William somewhere further back! Liz
RE: Linda Burke Thank you for the information. When I've created memorials for someone whose parents are still living , yet wanting to show family linkage, I've made a note in the bio section with the names of the living parents and the grandparents with their Find A Grave#s. Not sure if there is a better way? Did Linda have a brother Bill (William)? Thanks. Liz
