RE: Burton/Barton Jackson Sanders
I do not doubt you,I just can not find any record of their burial, when I was in Leake county,I was in the county courthouse and wrote down all of the records I could find on the Sanders family and nothing showed up.
Will keep looking for any info I can find.
Thanks for keeping me updated.

RE: Georgia Ann (Sanders)Jones
I have a copy of Martha Ann(Booth) Sanders family bible, when it was copied ,the pages looks like they were falling apart.I also have a transcribed copy by David Brandstatter ( I do not know who he is)the copies were sent to me by Mitch in Atlanta. The pages look like the Sanders Bible I found in Texas about 15 years ago, it belonged to my great great grandfather, Willis Perry 1, it was in the Fort Concho museum.
When I was in Mississippi at about the same time I went to the Shockalo cemetery and took the pictures, but did not find a headstone for Burton/Barton at that time, I talked to a couple of men who were working on the church and they told me that there had been a bad storm years ago and that the creek behind the church and cemetery flooded and took some of the graves out.
According to a survey made by Lillian Mooney and Mary Sanders (not sure of the date)only a Burton J 1882-1940 and B.W 1848-1904 show up on the survey. No Barton Sanders is listed.

Hello Barbara
Glad to hear from you.I have a copy of the bible and it very hard to read,I have a transcribed estate settlement of Alsey Sanders and when Burtons name is spelled, it is spelled Burton, not complete proof but a start. I also have a copy of a certificate from the General Land Office on some land that he bought and it is also spelled Burton, dated 1 October 1859.His name appears 10 times on the 2 documents and it is all spelled Burton.
You said you saw his headstone, where is he actually buried?

RE: Lucy Alma Hughes
Good Evening To You:

"First", I thank you for writing. Cousin Lucy Alma (HUGHES) Jones is a "First Cousin" to My Late Great Grandfather E. C. Hughes. My Hughes Family was very close with The Lucy (Hughes) Jones family all of our lives. Now I never saw Cousin Lucy, but I knew 1 of her children (Iris Jones) and her baby SISTER Florence (Hughes) Brown whom lived with her very well. As to John Calhoun Jones (nickname "MAJOR") he left Lucy (Hughes) Jones and their 4 children and moved to Louisiana and Re-Married. I will look up that info over the weekend, but I am most sure (NONE OF US) ever knew where in Louisiana John C. Jones was ever buried. After his marriage to another LADY there was SIX MORE CHILDREN BORN and My Late Wife and I met them years ago in Meridian, Mississippi and also here in Mobile, Alabama, all of the 6 girls are deceased now 2015.
