I started out looking for one of my grandfather's grave & information about his military service. I discovered family on both sides were not listed anywhere. When I found findagrave.com it helped me find some of the cemeteries & some family members. I've made trips to a lot of the cemeteries. Armed with more dates I went to the library archives to find obituaries. I can see that this is going to be a long process but it is fascinating & so easy to get caught up in. I am grateful for this site! It has helped me get started in the right direction.
I am looking for the "Catlett's" (Dan & Isabelle, Harry & Rosie) Gore, Va & Capon Bridge,WV area; "Slonaker's" (George & Catherine, & Isabelle)Capon Bridge, WV & Gore, Va area; "Bowley's" (William & Isabelle), Gore, VA area? "Dunlaps" (Jeremiah & Ida) from the Gore,Va & surrounding West Virginia areas; and for the "Miller's" (Herbert & Bessie, Charles & Virginia (Jennie) ; "Dellinger's" (Ephriam & Minerva, & Bessie) from Wardensville, Hardy County, WV area; as well as the "Breeden's", "Hurts", & "Grave's" from around the Madison County and Frederick County, Va area. I recently found a couple more, quite by accident, but would love to hear from anyone who may know of any of these people.
