I started working on family history back in the early 70's because I did not have the opportunity to know my Grandfather Hauser. That was what initiated the whole search. I just happened to be living in Salt Lake City at the time and someone told me that the LDS Church had just about any record I might need for my quest.
From my mother's side of the family, I learned that on Decoration Day, you always take fresh flowers to the graves of grandparents and great grandparents. That tradition continues with my sister and myself when I go back home.
