As of today, October 28, 2013, I have walked all aisles and rows of the Yukon Cemetery. I will start working on the names that don't have a gravestone photo in the Yukon Cemetery.|
My newest challenge is Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie. Started walking it the beginning of November 2013.
I caught the genealogy bug in my teens when my twin aunts were researching my maternal grandfathers and grandmothers family history and cemeteries. I'm still an Iowa girl; but have been transplanted to Oklahoma. I love the older cemeteries along the Mississippi River.
I'm not here for the numbers. I will be happy to transfer; I want family members to be able to update their own.
My pictures are your pictures, please use them accordingly. I'm forever grateful for strangers taking pictures of my relatives!

|Stephen Payne||Ann Grant Palmer|
You pointed out a duplicate memorial for Ann Grant Palmer in both the Hope Cemetery and the Unitarian Churchyard Cemetery.
As far as I can tell, this is the same cemetery...the "Unitarian" cemetery is not divided in any way from the "Hope" cemetery. Since the Hope cemetery has several thousand entries, and the Unitarian cemetery only a couple of hundred, I'm assuming someone began another listing under another name. If you find otherwise, please let me know. I am not a resident of Kennebunk...I just stopped in this cemetery to search for a few errant relatives while on vacation!

Angie, I am well aware of the memorials you mentioned if you look carefully and read them you will notice the person that seems to have read the cemetery years ago has no information on the majority of the memorials they made other than (sometimes) a birth and/or death date with nothing else and no links. These are my relatives and I tried for over 2 years which is now 6 years to have info put on and links updates etc and nothing from that person zip 0. There are still many I know who they are and are my aunts, uncles, cousins, and more.....and they just sit in this cem. because of
'that' person who owns them. LOL ........
If you are lucky you won't run into someone like that on Find A Grave that has 'ownership' over your familys memorials.
I hope you leave mine alone.
Thanks and best wishes

|Charles Smith||Juanita J Paris Wood Edgmon|
Juanita is buried next to her first husband Leonard Wood. She is listed as Wood, Edgmon, Juanita Jean Paris. As of this date her sons have not had her name put on the marker.
|N. Dale Talkington||Joel P. Kyer #86634112|
Apparently he is the only Kyer listed on Find A Grave buried in Oklahoma.
AT first I could not figure out why I created his Memorial Page.
Sure enough his very short obit is on page 287 of our 1996 book TRIBUTES OF BLUE, Obituaries of Civil War Soldiers and Sailors Buried in Oklahoma.
He was a Captain in the 34th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War and his obit states he was buried at Yukon with military honors. No mention of next of kin.
I guess he doesn't have a military headstone. Maybe you can get one from the veterans administration.
Within the next couple of days I'll post his obit on Find A Grave.

Wish I could be of more help. The funeral ledger only shows basic information and the cemetery plots usually weren't recorded. The info I've shown on the memorial is all I have. Thanks for your efforts.
He was cremated and is buried in the casket with his mom. The only living relative I know is not fond of F A G so consequently I can not obtain his birth and death dates.... But I do feel he is entitled to a memorial....
Thanks for asking.
