|My name is Dace Ann Dorough Martin|
I live in Longview, Texas. I have been doing geneology for over 20 years. Surnames researched are Dorough, Martin, Davis, Jones, Weemes, Dillard, Musslewhite, Patrick, Darnell just to name a few. I have visited many cemeteries and wish I would have photograped every one I visited. It seems once you leave a cemetery you find out someone else is buried there that you needed the information on. This site is wonderful for that reason as well as other reasons. I also love babysitting my grandchildren and spending time with my family. I wish everyone that reads this a very blessed day!

|M. Field||Question about Memorial #70308320|
I noticed you put up a picture of an obituary for Elsie Ada Dobbs Martin, and I was wondering if you were related to her or had any more information about her. I'm a descendant of hers, so I'm very curious about finding out anything I can.
Thank you for any information you have,

|EJ Parker||Richard Henry Breckenridge|
The monument for Richard Henry Breckenridge is a newer stone placed in the last few years. Based on the family bible of John Calhoun Breckenridge(his oldest son) which is in my possession (I am his great granddaughter) Richard Henry's date of birth was September 17, 1827 and date of death was December 13, 1902, "age 75 years, 2 months & 16 days". Richard Henry was originally buried where the monument for his infant son W.R. is located. According to Ellaine Scott Breckenridge Faulk, her father, Harvey Breckenridge (cousin to Richard Henry)placed the W.R. monument on Richard Henry's grave since the stone was never placed when W.R. died. At the time Ellaine provided this information, her father was still alive and confirmed what transpired.

Thank you so much for taking time to snap a picture of my ancestor, Mary Lillian Baird Kee in the Knoxville Cemetery in Cherokee County Tx.

|EJ Parker||Samuel & Isabella Breckenridge|
The Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church Session records (page 93) from the MS state archives state that Isabella's date of death as: Sept 20, 1880 and for Sam'l J DOD of 1865.
These records also show the name as Brackenridge but the name transitioned to Breckenridge at a later date.
|EJ Parker||Elizabeth Isabella Dillworth Breckenridge|
The tombstone in the Pleasant Springs Cemetery for Samuel Breckenridge and his wife is a replacement stone and has issues. Thank you for correcting Samuel's name to Samuel James (NOT David). I'm also finding issues with his wife's information. I can find no information that she was ever known as Elizabeth. Her marriage records and all census show her as Isabella, as do the Session Records for the Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church (held in the MS state archives). Further she was still alive in 1880 and living with her son John, so her DOD is not accurate. Thanks for your assistance is improving the information.
|EJ Parker||Samuel David Breckenridge|
Greetings - even though Samuel's tombstone is engraved Samuel "David", my extensive research shows that his middle name was James. The tombstone appears to be a replacement monument and the error may have been made inadverently. Samuel James Breckenridge was the oldest son of Richard Breckenridge and was an elder in the Pleasant Springs Presbyterian church in Preston MS. His name is spelled out specifically as James in the Minutes of the Pleasant Springs church which in held in the MS state archives in Jackson. It is also noted in the will documents of Richard Breckenridge/Brackenridge housed at the Marengo County Courthouse in Linden MS.
|Linda Smith||Martin Family|
My name is Linda Martin Smith and I am the great-granddaughter of William Linley Martin and Amanda Catherine Hoy Martin. I saw your name as I was perusing the Martin side of the family on Ancestry.com. I havenít really done much research myself but have relied, instead, on the work of others, mostly on the Hoy side. It looked to me as though the research stopped with the father and mother of William Linley Martinóis that correct as far as you know? My family knows very little about my great-grandfather other than the fact that he died shortly before my grandfather was born and that he was killed by lightening (?) or some related accident. If you have the time, I would love to know more about the Martin family as I suppose we are distant cousins. I live in Fate, TX (Rockwall County) but was born in Dallas. My mother and father are deceased and I have one sister, I have many cousins and two uncles who would probably be interested in anything I can get my hands on. I do know that William Linley Martin in buried in Starrville Cemetery but thatís about all I know.
Thank you for any time and/or information you can give.
Linda Martin Smith
