I discovered Find A Grave while researching my family history...and now I'm hooked! There is such a sense of peace and tranquility, especially in the older cemeteries. The history behind the stones is fascinating to me, and I'm happy to be part of preserving that history. |
When photographing a cemetery, I only touch the stone when absolutely necessary, and even then - soft brush and water ONLY! If you use chalk, flour, cornstarch, etc. to "bring out" the writing on the stone, PLEASE STOP! You will damage the stone, whether you realize it now or not. Visit the discussion forums on this site for safe alternative methods.
I have a personal and/or family connection to almost all of the memorials I manage. If you notice any errors, or have information to add to a memorial, please use the "Edit/Suggest a Correction" feature to contact me, and I will gladly make the changes.

I too am a family researcher, and Margaret is also my husband's third great grandmother, thru the Loughridge line. I would love to connect with you on research. I retired a little over a year ago and previously genealogy research had been a hobby I loved but never had time for. Now I have tons of time and I am definitely hooked. Let me know if you would like to connect.

|Nicki ||RE: Charles and Mazie Spangler|
My aunt, Loreita Buswell, married Harold Spangler-they are both buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson, IN. I typed in a little information about Harold and linked him to his parents (I had to ask some of his children/grandchildren for their names). That is really all I know about the Spangler Family. I don't think any of their families are on Find a Grave, even though I've told them to check out what I insert to make sure it is accurate. I think you might as well keep the Spanglers unless you are just ready to get rid of them. I would take them if no one else wants them and you no longer do but I would transfer them to anyone who asked for any of them! Does this help you?

Mazie Catherine Spangler was born in York, Pennsylvania and died in Kentland, Indiana.
Could you add this information to her memorial?

|Robert Dixon||Possible Loughridge Photo|
Hello Erin.....I have what I believe to be a Loughridge family photo. Perhaps you can identify the people for me......How do I connect with you?

no direct relation, just had the info because his second wife is on my husbands family tree, she was his 2x great aunt and weve been tracing all the lines possible to find living family members for dna purposes. but thank you for the offer to transfer,not necessary.
|Katie Wilde||Hilda Gillespie|
I am looking for a Hilda Riley that was married to a William V Gillespie. But I am looking for one that had a son with the same name as his father. The place and dates for Hilda match what I am looking for. Could you answer some questions for me. My email is email@example.com
I am trying to find this information for a friend that believes this is her family.
Thank so much

Hi Erin: I'd be glad to take over your Vieley Cemetery entries. My Find A Grave ID is 47038930. My main interest is in the Lizton/Union Township area cemeteries so if you had other Find A Grave entries in these cemeteries you'd like to transfer to me, I'd take them too. Thanks for all your work in creating these entries, adding photos, etc. Regards, Dave Smith

Someone just told me a guess of Pennsboro Presbyterian Cemetery, WV for the cemetery in the photo. I know that Absalom Meredith's second wife Emma buried their son Oscar there and also Absalom's second wife Emma buried her second husband there(She is with him there). If I ever go back East I will check if that tall stone is there and if it says Absalom Meredith on it circa 1842-1904 (or 1840).
It has me curious since it looks like there is a ER written in the middle of it.

I recently have been given the photo that I am using as my profile picture on here. I remember you telling me you had also looked around for Absalom Meredith's grave and could not find it. Since this photo has Absalom's son John Andy Meredith posing in it (from his second wife Emma)in front of a stone with his hat off, I was hoping that could be a lead.I don't live back East, so I was hoping you might recognize the edge of the building in the left of the photo. If you click on the photo it will get bigger to see. I know many have searched for his location of probably WV or Ohio.
