Paternal Grandparents were Luther Edgar Davis & Margaret Elnora Rowell Davis of Norway, Orangeburg County, SC. Please visit our precious little grandbaby, Jordan, that the Lord saw fit to remain in heaven with Him and the angels. Jordan Hannah Perez|
Thanks to all my Find-A-Grave Friends for visiting my parents, grandparents and my lil grandchild. They are surely missed and were loved greatly. My homegoing to meet these wonderful people will make for a HUGE celebration!
Married to Craig Hannah, mother of Miranda Hannah, stepmother of Alisha, Daniel (Bubba), Mark and David Hannah. Bubba, Mark and David were U. S. Marines and all proudly served this great nation of ours. On January 24, 2014, Alisha made me a grandmother with the arrival of Gabriel (G. J.) Perez, Jr. What a joyous occasion! In January 2015, Craig and I traveled to El Paso for G. J.'s first birthday. He's getting so big and absolutely the handsomest little boy around. I'm so glad God saw fit to let me stay on this Earth a little while longer to enjoy my grandson. In November 2015, we got back from a week and a half motorcycle visit to see G. J. and all the Texas young'uns! Yes, I said motorcycle visit to Austin, Texas! I had my doubts as to whether I could do it in two days coming back, but I did! Spending time with G. J. and the kids was wonderful early Thanksgiving and Christmas present rolled into one! Alisha and Gabriel are expecting again. Alisha is doing well and the due date for this sweet lil sister of G. J.'s is September 26th. Can't wait to welcome her to the family!
Colorectal Cancer Survivor here! In January 2011 my family's world was turned upside down by the news that I had colorectal cancer. My father died from colon cancer in 1992. He had been diagnosed at 58 so my sisters and I were aware that we would need to start colonoscopies at the age of 48. Ten years from your direct line ancestor is the norm. (My daughter will need to start colonoscopies at 35.) I was 45 when I was diagnosed due to symptoms that I noticed. I had the operation to remove the rectal cancer plus a little over a foot of my colon on March 1st and I started chemotherapy on April 13th. My chemotherapy ended on October 7, 2011 after only two small setbacks. Even though my father had chemo with his cancer, you don't realize Exactly what a person goes through Daily with all the changes to your body that chemo does. God Bless my Daddy! The further along in your chemo regime, the more the chemo attacks other body functions and muscles. As my husband put it, chemo really is just fumigating for any cancer bugs that may be roaming around in your body. At least in my case that was what was happening. Fortunately, I am blessed with an outstanding husband, children and family (my sister, Beth was there every day encouraging me and worrying about me) that were with me helping me complete my chemo journey. Now, over 5 years later, I still deal with day to day issues; however, I am here and I'm getting on with life despite my 2011 journey. In 2015, I'm finally at a point that I feel pretty good which is a blessing in itself. My last scan was May 13, 2016 and they are now going to let me go a year before another scan. Small steps, but good steps in the correct direction! Please, please, get those colonoscopies when they are due at 50. They really aren't as bad as they used to be and you don't want to have to deal with the alternative....take it from someone who has been there!
God Bless Each And Every One Of You! ~Laurie~

Thank you for the obit, which I deleted the obit I had and replaced with the one you sent. I read the obit and it shows a different cemetery - I have the cemetery as Belleville Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg - this obit lists cemetery as Heavenly Rest. I want to make sure I have it in the right cemetery.
My husband Dan & I lived in Neeses, SC some years back.

Hey Cousin Laurie, How are you and yours? I got my heart tests back and they were ok. I have to go to two other specialists though.
Regarding Greg, I think it is so nice you have a database to honor soldiers and law enforcement!
Yes, I knew Greg and I know his family. I met them in 1997 when I moved into the house I live in now. They live across the street from me.
He and his wife Molly were not married yet. I was there when his daughter's Ryan and Reese were born. I met his daughter by his first wife (her I know as well, she is very sweet) when she was abt. 4 years old. I knew his mom, dad, and his sister from Newberry.
Greg was a Richland County Highway Patrol Supervisor. He was a Marine having served in Desert Storm. He was hit by a car that was driving in the safety lane while he was parked behind a car that he had pulled over for speeding on the highway. The car that hit him was going so fast that his patrol car (a camaro) ended up with the backseat in the front seat. He managed to get out and run to the grass and fall down. Another Patrol car came...parked behind his Camaro and yet another civilian car ran into that Patrol car. Greg was hurt bad and had to have back surgery that left him unable to work anymore. He developed diabetes. He then developed Pancreatitis and died alone in his home while his wife and kids were on vacation. He died on my birthday. I will never forget that day. His daughter Chelsea (I have sent links to his parents and daughter to their Find A Grave maintainer's to connect him) had a stroke after birth due to some kind of chemical Greg was exposed to during desert storm. She had a Liver transplant as an infant, and one side of her body was messed up. She was a Gorgeous young lady....inside and out. Physical therapy corrected her leg (I taught her how to ride a bike) but her arm was never right. She got sick while in Nursing School, needed a new liver, she passed away at MUSC waiting on a liver match and is now in heaven with her daddy. I always wondered if their line of Williams was related. Greg's cousin was the lead singer and guitarist of the Marshal Tucker Band. Greg had a beautiful voice and played guitar as well. He sang in the Marine Choir. I miss him and Chelsea. God bless them.

|Maria Williams Murrah||Hey Cousin Laurie|
I went to a friends memorial to add flowers (haven't been able to as his death....and then his daughter's was very sad) Anyways, noticed you left flowers several times. Curious to know if you knew Greg or if you are just kind and leave flowers on all soldiers, former Highway Patrol's graves? His memorial number is 113006907 . I think I may add some pics to his memorial. Do you know him girl? If so, may I ask how. I have my reasons.....lol
|Adriana Santos Wade||Thank you -|
ALoha! You posted a photo of my grandma's grave site, and I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Are you any relation to the Wise or Poole families, or did you post just to pay tribute?
