Lives are commemorated - deaths are recorded - families are reunited - memories are made tangible - and live is undisguised. This is a cemetery.

Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence, historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.

Testimonies of devotions, pride and remembrance are carved in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life - not death - of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.

A cemetery is a history of people - a personal record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - ALWAYS.

Judge William "Jude" Purifoy
Hello. I see that you added this Memorial # 47366850 though it is now maintained by someone else. I'm trying to track down the source of the nickname "Jude." He is an extended member of my family (first cousin to my great-grandmother) - and, I've not been able to uncover any use of the nickname "Jude" - and was wondering if you knew.

Rev James P. Vickery
Please help me. I found Rev. James P. Vickery in two memorials at what I believe is the same cemetery.
Memorial numbers 447091727 and 83827282
Marker picture is the same.
Are there two different cemeteries or are they same?
83827282 has him linked to wife Susan Shiflet 47091728

Sending message to both people who have memorials

For the grave picture of Jefferson Bice Taunton.
I looked for it for over an hour-in every way I could think of- and finally googled it and someone mentined that the grave on findagrave was spelled Tanton. (You did not put the grave on, only the picture)
I have ask to change it to what the stone says.
May I use the grave picture in my research? Thanks. Ms Gerry Hill- A contributor.

Memorial of Marion Ashley McCranie, Old Homer Cem., Claiborne Parish, Louisiana
Dear J. Lowery,

Thank you for the memorial page you've created for Marion Ashley McCranie, who is buried in Old Homer Cemetery in Homer, Louisiana.

I have a correction for the page, and hope you won't mind my sending it. The page identified Marion as a spouse of John Allen McCranie, who shares a tombstone with him.

John and Marion were brothers, however. Marion's obituary is in the 19th volume of the Alpha Tau Omega "Palm" (Chicago: ATO, 1899), pp. 175-178. Marion was a student at University of Virginia at the time of his death, and a member of their ATO chapter.
