THIS IS A CEMETERY

Lives are commemorated - deaths are recorded - families are reunited - memories are made tangible - and live is undisguised. This is a cemetery.

Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence, historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.

Testimonies of devotions, pride and remembrance are carved in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life - not death - of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.

A cemetery is a history of people - a personal record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - ALWAYS.

Lily Moorhead McClure 42225113
My deep gratitude for changing this lady's name for me.

As I was looking at your welcome change, I chanced to see "Lily Clure", Memorial 11726248, with photo of Lily Moorhead McClure's tombstone. Lo and behold, this is the same lady.

I have a 2005 photo of this tombstone which clearly shows a very small "Mc" chiseled above and between Lily and Clure -- I'll bet whoever made the tombstone had to make that correction.

If these small letters are not visible in the photo with the referenced memorial, I'll be glad to send the 2005 photo to you.

Could you and Julie K. Cooper Hancock, administrator of 11726248 please work together to combine these memorials. I'll send a copy of this to her.

Also, there is a child "Alexander McClure, age 14 years 4 months, Memorial 42225117, buried near Lily McClure. The James Lee McClure Family Bible record has two separate entries for this child:
"Alexander Newton McClure, born September 20--1821" and "Alexander Newton McClure [died] December 7--1822".
So, he was 14 months old, not 14 years, 4 months. Could you please correct this memorial, as well.

Again, thank you so very much for all of your good work.

M E McClure

Jemima Alexander Sharpe # 42225303
Thank you for your work on findagrave! According to the memorial for Sarah Sharpe # 42225304, her inscription reads that she is the daughter of James and Jemima Sharpe. Will you please edit Jemima's bio to include her husband's name as James Sharpe?
Thanks,
Bev Key

May I use the photo of the monument that you contributed to the memorial page of Alva McDonald, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? (www.vermontcivilwar.org)
You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

Little Branch, Double Branches Baptist Church, Lincoln Co., GA
I am doing a research of the graves at Double Branches Baptist Church in Lincoln County, GA. I see on Find A Grave where you have a memorial for Little Branch Davie. We have a marker at our church for Little Bancy Davie who was born 1879, died Sept. 15, 1882. I have the records from the Corps of Engineers and they didn't have Little Branch listed. I thought maybe they were twins but Little Bancy was three years old when she died. Her grave marker states age 3 years. If you would let me know where you found the information, I would appreciate it. Thanks. Jeannette Moragne

Brown Family at Mt. Olive Cemetery
I'm so sorry! I just sent 3 edits correct an edit I previously sent you for the Brown family (Tishie, Toy J., and Nellie) who are buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery, in Jackson County, Ga. I had mistakenly believed them to be the children of Tishie Brown, but they are in fact the children of J. Newt Brown and Genie Glenn Brown. This information is confirmed. I apologize for my previous error and thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating these memorials on Find A Grave. God bless you always. Nannette
