Bio and Links
Bio Photo Researching Horton's, Marshall's and all related families. We live in the Crystal Coast area of North Carolina. Besides genealogy, we are very involved in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. I had FAG transfer all of Becky's memorials to me in 2011 as she has passed away. There were over 20,000 of them so forgive me if I haven't gotten them all updated/corrected. There are many with mistakes. Please let me know if you find one using the EDIT TAB feature and I'll get it corrected. Many of them are off a few days for the death date. If they are buried in Pulaski Co, Va, check out Pulaski County Library System for more complete information and let me know. If you see a memorial that you'd like to manage, just let me know your relationship to that person and I'll transfer it to you. Please use the EDIT TAB to request transfer. Thanks, Becky, for all your hard work. Tombstones are "More than a Name on a Wall" as sung by The Statler Brothers in the song by the same title. From Find A Grave's FAQ..."The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, REGARDLESS of who created the memorial or who maintains it". For all my Marshall family, we now have a Facebook page. See Jacob Marshill for family pics and other genealogy info there. Thanks, Denise<><

Parents for Mary (Rippie) Edwards
Wondering if you would mind adding the parents of Mary (Rippie) Edwards:

John Wesley Rippey: #146496676
Mary A. Albert: #146497091

Also, I have a short biography that I'd like to add, if you don't mind. Thank you! (Mary Rippie Edwards was my g-g-grandfather's sister.)

Biography

Mary Catherine Rippie/Rippey was just a girl when her family moved from Alamance County, North Carolina, to Carroll County, Virginia, just after the Civil War in 1867/8. There were at least 11 members of the Rippie/Rippey family in the traveling party, but the reasons for the migration are not known. The Rippie/Rippey family settled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church and were farmers and orchardists. All eight of the Rippie/Rippey children, who ranged in age from 4 to 27 when the moved occurred, married Carroll County natives.

Mary Rippie married Daniel Austin "Auss" Edwards on December 20, 1877, a few days before she turned 18. They had eight daughters, all but one of whom survived to adulthood. Auss Edwards was killed on a Sunday, June 17, 1897, when he was shot in the chest by his neighbor, Alexander Thomas, while the men were on their way to church, according to a newspaper article in the Mt. Airy News.

After her husband's death, Mary Rippey Edwards had one more child, George Arthur Edwards, born May 25, 1901. By 1910, Mary had moved with several family members, including George, to Pulaski County, where she lived the rest of her life.

Parent incorrect
On memorial 38317496 Beatrice's father is not Walter Basham. Walter should be listed as her spouse. Walter's memorial is 156627764. Thank you!!

Duplicate memorials
You and I have duplicate memorials. Could you please delete memorial 38317496? Thank you! The other memorial is 156626920. I have added a photo as well as more info. Or perhaps we could merge the two. I'm not sure how to do that.

Eunice Viola Huff - Duplicates
Dear Concerned Find-A-Gave Contributors and visitors,

Regarding: DUPLICATE MEMORIALS in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia,Rockingham Va,Hardy WV and surrounding area.

A former large volume F-A-G Contributor had a dispute with Find-A-Grave staff and Deleted some 80% or more, of their contributed memorials, estimated to be about 40,000 or so. Thus causing the rest of us local Contributors, over the last year or more, to re-enter those family, friends and distant relatives we noted were missing.

Once F-A-G had decided to take positive action, they reloaded all the Deleted memorials from that former F-A-G Contributor, on Wednesday, 25feb2015. F-A-G staff, undoubtedly knew they would cause tens of thousands of Duplicates, and assigned their staffer, known as 'ProjectMgr' to work through their Merge process.

Please be patient and allow F-A-G to work through the entire group of Duplicate memorials.

Thank you.
E49 Created above Statement

PS
If anyone gets Find A Grave to transfer memorials cared for by ProjectMgr Just a heads up I dont delete any connected to ProjectMgr.I worked hard to replace all the memorials that had been deleted.Find A Grave choice to re-upload the Old Deleted memorials And we work free on this site.So if anyone wants our memorials Have Find A Grave Merge them or if you dont have a problem merging then more power to you.

I do want to thank anyone that has helped with my duplicants created after the major upload of old memorials formerly deleted.I really appreciate the help.

Barbara Taylor Payne 37883378
Hi, I have been looking at the 1930 and 1940 census for Pulaski,Va. I don't believe the parents for 37883378 are right .
John Houston Taylor [1871-1955 ] should be Vernon V. Taylor 60278400
Nannie Belle Lawson Taylor [ 1877-1960 ]would have been 60 years old when 37883378 was born .it should be Nannie Buckland Taylor 1904-1988 .60278435 .She would have been 33 when 37883378 was born .
And Sarah Alice Taylor Lawson [ 1900-1990 would not be a sister .
Correct me if I am wrong .
Thank you ,Lena Pearson
