Greetings! I am retired U.S. Coast Guard, 27 years, 9 months and 4 days service (4 years U.S. Navy) originally from Macon, Georgia, living near Nashville, Tennessee. I've always loved strolling through cemeteries looking at individual graves and wondering what kind of person lies resting at my feet. I can stroll cemetaries for hours without getting bored. I love Military History, specifically the Civil War, as my g-g-grandfathers fought for the Confederacy; however, I have a soft spot for ALL veterans and children. I have traced my lineage paternally to Ulster Scots emigrating from Ireland in the early 1700s, first to Pennsylvania then to North Carolina and eventually to Wilcox County, Georgia by the early 1800s. Maternally, I am second-generation Italian/Croatian. Those of you who leave flowers for any of my memorials or simply visit, I wish to thank you in advance. If I leave flowers for your loved one(s), no thanks is necessary, but if you feel the need to reply please do so. God bless us all.|

Richard Attenborough was the older brother of Sir David Attenborough, the naturalist and broadcaster. Richard was the actor, film director, producer and entrepreneur. Thanks for your time!

Hi, George, long time no talk. Just FYI, from Abe Newman's admission record to the Confederate Soldiers' Home, his date of birth was 7 Jun 1843 and date of death was 27 Aug 1902. Let me know if you want me to send you a copy of this. I also found the article in the Atlanta paper announcing the opening of the Soldier's Home and he was among the first 40 veterans admitted.

Thank you so much.
I read your message. I really appreciate this. You and many others have renewed my faith in people as a whole.
I need to hear the kind words because I feel alone because of the war aftermath that put a mark on our souls.
I don't know what to believe anymore. All I can do now is maintain the friendships with the people who are still alive today. But I'll never forget anyone who was in my life.
God bless you.

You are so welcome, I don't get to explore others memorials often, but when I do it is an honor for me to leave a token for them. Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July.
