Bio Photo If I have added a family member or friend of yours and you want me to transfer it to you, just send me a note in a "Suggest a Correction." I do not have a sense of entitlement to the memorials I put on here. As volunteers we should be grateful for the memorials that family members are caretakers of. If you would, please let me know how you knew the deceased just for my own personal knowledge as well as your Contributor ID number.

I have four children of my own and another that I am raising as mine. They are the most amazing five children ever. My three "littles" are in 10th grade, 8th grade and 7th grade. My "bigs" are 24 and 23. My daughter who is 24 is recently married and a special needs assistant at an elementary school. My son who is 23 is currently a crew chief in the Air Force but will soon be training for TacP. They are my life wholly and completely.

I also had a FABULOUS granny that meant everything to me. She is bar none the most amazing woman I have ever known. She is the reason I do this. All my life my granny made sure that her family was never forgotten. She has made me feel as if I know family members I have never met. Keeping family memories and histories alive is what this is all about.

After all, we are nothing without our ancestors.

On February 9th, 2010, my Granny, Livvie Bilbrey McCowan, passed away. Her daughter Ina McCowan Blanch was my grandma. Please visit their memorials if you have the time. I miss them so much and they were both truly some of the greatest women who have ever lived.

Also, please visit my step-dad, Jack David McKenzie's memorial too. Anything you left would tremendously help my mother with the grieving process. I have just introduced her to this site and she finds it cathartic.

I lost my mother unexpectedly at age 59 on October 14, 2012. I will never be the same again. Please visit her, Bobbie Darlene McKenzie if you have the chance and read about her. I never knew anything could hurt so bad.

Some of my family names are Gregg, Bilbrey, Phipps, Brown, McCowan, Phillips, Crawford, Kennedy, Smart, Ingram, Meer, Shull and Harvey.

Bilbrey, Narrod and Norrod
Crystal,

Livvie was my aunt. Linnie was my mother. My last name, Narrod, was originally spelled Norrod. At Campground Cemetery there are markers of Norrod and Narrod. My brother, Benton Ray Narrod is buried there as is my father Early Ray Narrod. Linnie, my mother, is buried at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Chattanooga. My brother, Charles Wesley Narrod, is buried in Dunlap, Tennessee. My middle name, Alastus, is for my maternal Grandfather, Alastus Bilbrey. My paternal grandfather was Dillard Norrod.

RE: Candis Bilbrey
I'm sorry for not getting back to you. I drive a truck and am not home often enough to get on here to check this site very often. The picture is one that my great grandmother Susie Roberson had. She positively that it is Candis' picture.
How does your line run from Candis?

Polly Phillips Brown
Hi Crystal..I just saw your post. Yes, we are related. Pollyanna Phillips Brown was the Mother of Elvira Brown Neely. Elvira was the Mother of Donzie Malinda Neely Ashburn. Donzie was the Mother of Willie Mae Ashburn who married WM Joe Miller and were my parents. I have a lot of information because I use to work on our family geneology but haven't for several years. My email address in bjschlenk@roadrunner.com. Betty

Velma McCowan
Crystal, I believe your Aunt Velma is my birth mother. I was born in Muncie. My original birth certificates identifies her as Velma Lee McCowan and Jackie Lee Ankrom as my father. My birth name was Jeraldean. I was born on Oct 17, 1956. I was put up for adoption when I was 9 months old, in Etowah County Alabama. Please let me know if my long search is over and if I have any siblings.

Your Granny Livvie
I visited her memorial, and just wanted to say, she seems like she was an amazing woman. Reminds me of my own grandmother.

RE: Candis Bilbrey
Hey, Yes I am sure that the picture is Candis. The picture has been handed down to my Greatgrandmother who knew Candis before she died. I have pictures of my greatgrand mother with Candis' daughter Frankie, who also knew that the picture belonged to Candis.
I am descended through Frances Harris Bilbrey, then America Elizabeth, then Dora, then Susie, then Thelma, then Anna, then me.
Do you have any info on Candis' first husband Henry Harris? Everyone has hit a dead end on him.
Carolyn
