This is a fun and interesting hobby for me, as well as a great way to perform a meaningful community service to others. Someday I hope to have more free time to devote to it. Please get locations before requesting photos from Inglewood Park Cemetery. If the memorial only has a plot name (i.e., "Fairhaven") you will need to ask for the lot number. The office staff are very helpful.|
In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, please read the Transfer Guidelines prior to requesting a transfer. I will make exceptions if I am personally doing work for you. You do not need to "manage" every memorial that is part of your family tree. Remember that this site is for locating burials, not building a tree. There are other websites that are more suitable for that purpose. I will be happy to make any links and corrections. PLEASE use the SAC feature ("Edit" tab). Please do not ask me to do links to any "Burial Unknown". Do your homework, first. FIND A GRAVE ADMINISTRATORS SUPPORT THIS POLICY. Please feel free to add photos where appropriate, as you do not need to manage the memorial to add photos.
I will not cut and paste raw data from census records, death indices, etc. A nicely written bio is preferable.
Since March 2013 I have taken over management of memorials in Inglewood Park Cemetery from Chris Mills. Please continue to send suggestions for corrections using the "Edit" tab and I will get to them as soon as I can.

|Pat Shaw||RE: Andrew Leonard|
BJ I realize that it will make it harder for them, I have linked him to his adoptive father, not sure he was around much with Williams first wife and do not remember right off hand seeing him mentioned in Lenora's obit I found.
I was just saying in my view if I was looking at Andy as being my blood relative I would want to know he was adopted rather than think I that the Leonard family was my DNA. I have a weird situation in my close family of not knowing if a grandmother of mine had a child (my father) by her husband or per her sisters family telling me she was with another man...which means I have no clue what the truth is. They are all deceased so I have is a rumor! To make it worst, the possible father of my dad only had 3 daughters, my father had one brother with no children, and my parents only had 2 girls and my sister died in 1975, my dad and his possible father 1976 ... so the only DNA I can do is on my maternal side. Anyway that is my story. I really do hope you decide to put he was adopted on his page..

|T S.||Thank You!|
Just want to thank you for posting a picture of our aunt and uncle, Grafton and Lillian Jones final resting place. For years we'd wondered if the names were placed on the vaults correctly. You have really done a good deed. Thank you. Aunt Lillian and Uncle Grafton's grand niece and great niece.

Greetings; I understand and in no way upset of your not transferring Earl to me. I'm not going to throw a tissy fit like some do on find a grave, that's not what I'm about. I just thought I'd throw this information your way Earls father grandfather is also my G grandfather. (Willis West). I am related. His number again is 79770973. Thanks again for your timely manner in answering before. I do understand, your probably related also. Thank you for all you do on Find A Grave. Sincerely email@example.com. Have a great day
The photo requests you cited are just for the Ottumwa Cemetery alone. There are more - Shaul Cemetery, Calvary Cemetery, and The Ottumwa Jewish Cemetery for the city alone, plus many country cemeteries in our county. There are three of us here that do most of the requests, and we are all out and about a lot. We do the best we can, but we all have a lot of other things going on in our lives too. This has been a hot and humid summer, and we had an unusually large amount of rain this summer, so these requests really piled up.
