I got hooked on family history after my mother died in 2001 when I was looking through her things and found a family history written by her aunt. It went back to my 3xgreat grandparents homesteading in Ontario, Canada in 1820. We visited the area they homesteaded in June of 2006 and mentioned the families we were researching to an old timer. He went and found a fellow who turned out to be a 4th cousin. That really set the hook for me.

In the research process I have met some really nice folks. Some related, and some who just love solving the puzzles of family histories.
