I'm a sociologist at UW-Eau Claire, book lover, travel lover, family lover. . .|
Much of my work on Find-A-Grave is coordinated with my daughter, Sandi Knutson Kaduce. We are particularly interested in cemeteries in Barron, Chippewa, Dunn, and Clark counties in Wisconsin.
Genealogy is my passion. Recording information and taking pictures of graves in my area is an important service I can provide to others. I appreciate those who add information and pictures that I do not have geographical access to. The ability to "connect the dots" or fill in the branches, so to speak, of our family trees is deeply meaningful to me. I also love history and appreciate the history I explore as I learn more about the graveyards and communities around me.
I am willing to share pictures and information with anyone, but I expect to be given credit for pictures used by others.
My love for graveyards, and the stories they hold, began with reading Edgar Lee Masters' "Spoon River Anthology" as a teenager. It is a collection of free-form poems, one for each individual buried in Spoon River (a fictional town). It is now entirely available on the internet: http://spoonriveranthology.net/spoon/river/. Enjoy!

I have an obituary for Lucille that I would like to add to the Find A Grave Memorial. How can I do this?
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

Thank you so much for the photo of the Bashford Stone. He was my 2nd Gr. Grandfather's brother.

Glad I could help. That's an old cemetery and there is a lot of broken and partially buried grave stones. The Showerman graves weren't bad though.

Thanks for the help.

Mary Cole do you know about her history in VA during civil war? She maybe my GGG Grandma. I'm not looking to manage any memorials.

Jane Gannon Roycraft Mem. #129685372 Her Death Cert. shows her parents to be Valentine Gannon and Eliza Brown. I have not been able to find where they are buried. I believe the Valentine Gannon that is buried in Prairie View is a son.
Mange takk for the gravestone photo of my Great-Uncle Karl Johnson. He was called Charlie by the family. I had tried to clean the stone and the "goo" did not come off. Since water is not available, I made a mess of a mess! I think the Barron County Genealogical Society may have copied and snapped photos of this cemetery too but they charge for their copies where people like you share sans cost. So it is!
16th May, 2015 a program is being planned in Menomonie by the Dunn county Genealogical Society about the Johnson family that will include Karl/Charlie and his sibs, uncles, aunts, etc.
By chance, are you related to this family? I am trying to trace the Gilbert Johnson family. He is buried at Highland Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn county, WI. See Find A Grave.

Thanks so much for fulfilling my photo request. I appreciate the time and effort you put into it. The photos look great! May I use them in my family tree on Ancestry.com? I will definitely give you credit for the photos. Thanks again, Vicki C.
