Two years ago I began the project of fact-checking the data in memorials posted to cemeteries in my local area. As a family researcher at our local heritage centre (Annapolis Heritage Society, Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia) I felt compelled to make sure the information included in the memorials was as correct as possible. I have access to sources not available online, e.g. church burial records, funeral home records, newspaper obits. I'm familiar with the family names and in many instances know where they lived. So to contributors to cemeteries in my local area, that's why I have sent you many 'Suggestions for Edits". And many thanks to those of you who have been prompt in approving them. I am an amateur genealogy researcher, with particular focus on my home area, which is western Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada. I also have been a genealogy volunteer at our local museum since 1998. I enjoy making connections for people who have roots here in this historically rich part of the province.

No permission needed to copy any of the gravestone photos I have posted to the website.

I would be happy to provide sources upon request for any of the biographical material I include in the memorials.
