I've been researching my roots for nearly 40 years. I remember when I was a boy asking my grandmother and great aunt about relatives who lived so long before me. I got the genealogy bug and the quest for more information continues. The journey has been amazing!|
As an army veteran, I enjoy knowing about and researching those who served in the U.S. military. Their names and experiences need to be remembered.
Family names I'm mainly searching are the following from OH, WV, PA, MD: Ansel, Anspach, Boso, Botzko, Calvert, Dupler, Ferguson, Logsdon, Logston, McMillan, and Mills.
If you are a related to or have an extreme interest in a memorial that I have, I'm happy to transfer the site (unless it's one of my relatives or someone I'm very interested in). I believe that a relative will care for a site more than anyone else, no matter how distant the relationship.
Happy genealogy trails!

Yes, Delta was my sweet mother.
Did you know her well? She was a very special lady.
How exactly are we related?
Do you have an email I can send pics to?
Thanks for replying.
Hello Charles - Labor Day weekend I attended our family reunion where we discussed the long time search for James's burial from his death in the Civil War. I was very surprised and happy to find your memorial: Pvt. J. Lafield memorial #76050321. Please transfer his memorial so I may give his life and family history, edit, and maintain his memorial. Thank you for you thousands of contributions to Find A Grave! Best Regards - skyquest #46907373

I saw on a post, you asked if anyone had more information on them. They were my mother's brothers. I have the newspaper article with their pictures telling of their deaths and I have pictures of them in their uniforms.
|Alexaner Scott||William Hyslop Sumner|
Sumner (#76891095) was married three times. First in 1826 to the widow of Raymond Henry Jones Perry (died 1826) whose brothers Oliver Hazard Perry and Matthew Calbraith Perry were well-known Navy officers. She died in 1834 and is buried in the DeWolf family cemetery, Bristol, Rhode Island (#9095525) Secondly in 1836 he married Maria Foster (Doane)Greenough who died in 1843. In 1848 he remarried for the third time to Mary Dickinson Kemble of New York City, a niece of General Gage, the last British governor of Massachusetts. |Diane(Howard) Lawson||John H Fitzgerald. pls disregard previous info|
I am sorry to have to correct my previous information. I have discovered that the Pvt John H Fitzgerald buried in the Howard Cemetery is actually the BROTHER of Cassandra Howard-Fitzgerald's husband, not the father. I have verified this on census records. I am sorry to have bothered you, but I am digging further.
|Diane(Howard) Lawson||John H Fitzgerald|
In the Howard Cemetery, Cameron, Marshall, WV there is a Pvt. John H Fitzgerald buried. He is listed as a Civil War soldier, Company C, 17th Regiment, West Virginia Infantry. I have always wondered who he was in relation to the Howard's.
So after much investigation, I have discovered that he is the father-in-law of Cassandra Ann Howard, daughter of Jacob and Hannah Darr-Howard.
Cassandra (b:1853) was married to John H Fitzgerald's son, Edward Fitzgerald (b:1849).
John H Fitzgerald was born abt 1830 in Virginia.
I am continuing to work on this line, but thought you would like to know.
Also, the Howard Cemetery only shows 7 burials listed. Do you know if this is a larger cemetery? I thought there were 2 Howard cemeteries in that area, a "Republican" and a "Democrat" with many more Howard's buried. Any info appreciated.

I've had to relocate 2 memorials I prev. ID for Mount View after requesting & receiving photo additions of their memorial.
Christine McDermott added the photos, then told me to remove them from MV to Mount Calvary.
I refused until provided a death cert for Wm Wilson Ewing saying he was to be at MC.
Now of course the same problem exists for his spouse Ellen. Although I don't have any proof for her at this point,
But, after the 2 gals were going to add them, creating duplications at MC...
I did move her based upon the marker carvings at MC, & the desire to not have dupes!
I refused to remove your created memorials, in spite of their pleas to do just that.
I will return their memorial data to what you had...while I continue to ID them correctly for me.
Now, can you provide the original ID you had for #87021451 & #87021443 for me?
Thanks for your support,

I don't usually transfer cousins but in your case.
1. You asked nicely.
2. You sponsored their memorials.
Sponsorship lets people know you really care.
