My sister & I began researching our "Johnson" family tree July 4, 1998. About 6 months later, we added the "Barnes" branch to our search. For the next several years, we worked on our tree a lot. Then we put it down for a while. When my sister died in 2001, I couldn't bring myself to even think about my family tree. She & I had spent so many hours together researching and walking cemeteries that I just didn't want to do it without her. Finally one day, I bought a newer verson of Family Tree Maker and I was hooked all over again. I love to spend time in the cemeteries looking for graves that belong to one of my ancestors. Thank God for digital cameras because I was spending so much money on film and developing pictures. Sometimes I will find something and find myself saying "Hey Gayle, do you believe this? I wish you were here to see it."
