I am the oldest child of Harold E. Beard and Daisy Brumfield. I grew up in New Orleans and spent a lot of time on my great grandparents' farm in Salem, Walthall Co., MS. Our family cemetery (Spence) is located there on original property of my ancestor, William Washington Spence.
I became interested in genealogy at a young age, listening to stories told by my great grandmother, Ettie Spence Pigott. Since then, researching ancestors and related families has become a life-long adventure. It is my favorite hobby and past-time.
I am an educator by profession, but am now retired.
I have been fortunate enough to have lived abroad in Brazil, and traveled extensively in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. (I have been to thirty + countries and every state in the USA.)
