I have been interested in cemeteries for a long time now, and I remember when I was young going with my parents to put flowers on relatives graves and I didn't understand the full meaning of it until my own mother passed away. Now I look at so many unkept and never visited graves, I usually stop and say an Our Father and a Hail Mary, it really makes me sad to think that all those people have been forgotten. I wish more people were interested in remembering the forgotten ones. I would hope we as a nation could take pride in how far we have come and with out those that have passed on we wouldn't be where we are today. I always think that an unkept grave is a sad and sorrowful thing. I spend many hours at Poplar Hill Cemetery. It is one of my favorite cemeteries. I am very bummed at this point in time as my camera cannot be fixed so I am in the process of finding a new one. Hopefully it will not be too long as I am having cemetery withdrawals.
