My Great-grand mother Ella Breitenbacher Stumbaugh left a hand written account of the family members from 1943.Ray Grove wrote a book Stumbaugh's tree of life which dates back to the Stambach in Kutzenhausen, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France to the America's on the passenger ship, Robert and Alice in 1729 to the port of Philadelphia. My ancestors are from Shenandoah Valley,Virginia and Franklin county Pennsylvania, to Greer, Ohio on my Father's side. GGGgrandfather Jacob Stumbaugh born in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia in 1783. His father name was also Jacob that had came from Germany and settled in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia were and when is unknown at this time. Jacob from Virginia married Anna Margareta Stumbaugh in 1814,in Franklin Co.Pennsylvania not related;I know, sounds weird, she was born born 1787, Daughter of Jacob Stumbaugh and Anna Gertraut Shoafe of Shippensburg and Letterkenny Twp. PA. Jacob and Margret had seven children in Franklin co. Pennsylvania and moved to Greer Ohio in 1833 a long the Mohegan river. When you have so many Jacob Stumbaughs in one family it is very difficult and very easy to get them confused .Margret's bother was also name Jacob along with many other Jacob Stumbaughs that lived in the same county. My goal is to bond the family members together and to complete a family history record for the future by honoring our love ones that have gone before us. Any corrections to files would be welcomed
