I was born August 27, 1944, in Topeka, Kansas, to Vincent Nathaniel and Luneta Josephine (Barrett) Hammerli. I am married to Angela (Mitchell) Hammerli, and we have two sons, Nathaniel Hawthorne and Walt Whitman Hammerli. I was raised in St. Joseph, Missouri, but have lived in Thibodaux, Louisiana, for 35 years as an English teacher, soccer coach, and picture framer. My current interests are hiking, biking, and black and white photography.
