Find a Grave's mission is to find, record and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.

Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.

Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can leave remembrances via 'virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.

Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family, friends, and 'famous' individuals.

When adding names it should not be a race to be number one, It should be about adding to the right cemetery and not make a lot of doubles as some do.

I put a lot of time in to what I do. I take care of all I add.

The new edit system is so much faster. Please use it. I may not add all if you send it the old way.

Sorry I will not link to an unknown burial.
I will link a cremation but not from the 1800's

I transfer only family that falls in the guild lines.
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your SIBLINGS, PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS,GREAT-GRANPARENTS,CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, and GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.

I would like to know how you are family, (Like your mothers father) not just my grandfather.

I do not transfer to name collectors or Just because someone is in your family tree.

You do not have to maintain a memorial to have information added. I will add links and bio's.

DOUBLES should not be added, it only takes a few seconds to search the cemetery first.

Burial unknown

that are move are sometime removed. The one that is in the right cemetery first may stay, so if I search a cemetery and do not find the name I add it. If you move you unknown I will sent them in to find a grave.

RE: Polly Brown
No....someone transferred her memorial to me because I am related....they had her at that cemetery. In my family tree there is a "strange story" about her death & burial, which goes along with the caretaker saying that..so she's most likely there but grave has remained unmarked.

I can send you the story...give me your email address or send me an email renetann@aol.com.

RE: Glidden Cemetery Question
Ah...I'm surprised there are two. Someone has asked me to photograph Glidden, but if you've already done it, I don't want to duplicate that effort. When do you plan to (or have you already?) post your photos?

Weird, they were listed, see https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1951-40695-304-94?cc=2241461&wc=MFZ9-MWL:1019035901 for example. Perhaps it's a mistake... Thought there's only one Glidden cemetery in Lincoln county... Who knows?

Rachel E. Brown
I have never found a death record for my 3rd great-grandmother, Rachel Murray Brown. She was born in 1794 in Vermont, and was married to Abner Brown, Jr. in 1812 in Leeds. They lived in Leeds and Carthage, Maine, in later years.

Could this Rachel E. Brown possibly be my long-lost ancestor, who had possibly moved to Pembroke before she died?

Thank you for your response and for all the hours you must spend, recording information for so many of us !!!
