I began my genealogical research in 1964 while still in high school. At that time, I was fortunate to have three living grandparents who could remember THEIR grandparents who had all come from Germany. Although the information was not always completely accurate, it gave me good leads for further research.

I was also fortunate that all of my ancestors settled either in Millstadt or Belleville, which are both located in Saint Clair County, IL. That certainly made researching easier.

My submissions for Find A Grave are mostly for cemeteries in or near Millstadt, IL. I am especially interested in adding the earliest settlers to the area and also in adding their place of origin. In many cases, I have also added burials to cemeteries which have NO tombstones. These burials can be found mentioned in the records of various Millstadt area churches.

Over the past years, I have indexed and transcribed many Millstadt area records. I am always willing to share my research with others.
