Bio

I am a family genealogist trying to keep track of my family's history since most all of the older generations of oral historians are gone.

My mother's side is JERMAN, TRUMBLE, DOVE, BEACH, HARMON, DANIELS, just to name a few. (Including those that married into these families)
Most of them lived in and around the Fairfax, Virginia and Washington, DC area.

My father's side is KIDD, WILLIAMS, LEDDEN/LEDDON, CREASMAN, TOLIVER, just to name a few. (Including those that intermarried such as DUDLEY, HATTON, ELLERMAN, LOWE, CADWALLADER, Etc. The Kidd family left Virginia and settled in and around St. Louis and Jefferson Counties in Missouri, and others moved further west.

I also am working on my husband's family, which contain:
NELSON, CASEY, BIRKET, BELCHER, GOODWIN, INGLE, FARMER, GRIGSBY. (Some of these are names are intermarriage names, as well as GARRETT, PATTON, etc. (Most of these families are from Wisconsin, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Kansas, etc.

Please take note:

1. HISTORY is the study of the Human past as it is described in written documents left by human beings --
K. Kris Hirst, Archaeology Expert.

2. GENEALOGY is is basically is a study of these records that are left by human beings, but the one doing the study of these records narrows it down to a particular family line, such as your mother, your father, or both, and thus a family tree has been started. Most people are curious to see where they came from and by searching historical records that your ancestors have left is basically how genealogy gets started.
==============
The practical side of Genealogy...
1-Validate family stories.
2-Find famous people.
3-Historical events.
4-Trace Medical conditions.
5-Trace Inheritance.
6-Trace Land ownership.
7-Trace Family portrait.
8-Find Birth parents.
9-Proof of Paternity.
10-Religious Tenent.
11-Community History.
12-Historical studies.
-These are just to name a few things.
