Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born March 10, 1940 in Hogansville, Troup County, Georgia to Herman Hanson Mattingly and Mary Lee Oma Crowe and the second eldest of seven children to Herman and six to Mary.

My primary genealogical interests include Mattingly and Crow/e and connecting lines. I am descended from Cezar Mattingly but research all of the Mattingly name. From the Crow side, I am descended from James Crow (1713) and his second wife, Grace Denson.

If you see a memorial created by me and the individual concerned is of your immediate line, but not of mine, I am happy to transfer that memorial to you in accordance with Findagrave rules. If you are interested in a memorial outside Findagrave limitations and you have significant information that will improve the memorial, please us the "EDIT KEY" and I will make those changes.

Thanks to all who have contributed to these memorials especially the corrections as accuracy is important.

Richard and Sara Mattingly, Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA

On Sunday I did a photo of the Mattingly stone because of another photo request. HOWEVER, I see that you linked a Richard Mattingly as a husband, died 4/2/1914. I saw that "Cowboy" made a memorial for Richard at Holy Cross Cemetery... except it's for the one in Fresno. Richard is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in COLMA, along with Sara, Aloysius, Earl and Paul Mattingly, and three others.

Do you talk to Cowboy? If not, I will send a request over him to transfer the memorial to the correct Holy Cross Cemetery and then upload a photo to that memorial.

RE: Otis Mattingly
Thank you for replying. She has been the hardest person to find and, as she is my great-grandmother, I really, truly want to find her and add her to my tree. Please keep me in mind if you stumble across her anywhere. Thanks again.

Otis Mattingly
Hi William. Otis Mattingly was my grandmother, Ethel Mattingly's, brother. I am not as well-versed in genealogy research as I'd like to be, but I've been researching for about 2 years, on and off. I have some info on Otis, Ethel, William, and Carrie and their father, John. I have reached a dead end whenever I search for their mother, Myra Dunn Mattingly. If you have any clues or resources to help, I'd really appreciate it. My grandmother, Ethel, married William McGowan. They had 9 children, all mostly in Carterville, IL. My mother is Jo Armon (Joan) McGowan. Thank you for reading this.

RE: Marie Mattingly Harges
Unfortunately not... Gene never served in the military, that I know of. He went by the nickname Gino, or Geno, I have vague remembrance that he died before his mother, but I could also be wrong. Either or, I also suspect they are probably buried near or next to each other. Also, Sylvia Harges married after Wayne, to a Johnson.. in her father's obit she and they are listed as Johnson, but, that's was probably just listing them as her last name (people can be funny) and not their real last names which is Harges....

RE: Marie Mattingly Harges
Barry's first name was Lawrence. Gordon Neal (is on Find A Grave) - Richard Alan (on Find A Grave); but Barry and Gene remain a mystery. I know Gene never married, and we know he died in New Orleans. My dad attended his services, but, I can't find him anywhere, yet. And my father is deceased so I can't ask him yet either.....don't you just love the elusive ones??

Marie Mattingly Harges
Hello, I am Marie's husband's (whom I knew as Barry) 2nd cousin. His mother, Sylvia, was my first cousin. Sylvia's mother, also named Marie, was my grandmother's sister. May I kindly ask how you are related to Marie Mattingly? As you obviously have the same last name...and I have hit a few brick walls with Barry.
Thank you,
Charlotte Smith Muir

I am a great granddaughter of Charles Louis Goff Senior. Daughter of Charles Goff III. I grew up a half mile from the Rice Cemetery, knowing all the Mattinglys of Balltown. I still live in Breck County. Would be glad to work with you on any research of the county.
