I have been an active member of findagrave a lot longer than this bio reflects. I am no novice. I first joined under a nickname some years ago. Because of health reasons, I had to leave for a while, but I'm back. |
I love taking cemetery pictures. I try to present them as I actually see them in the cemetery. I don't "fix" them. #1 because they should look natural and #2 because I'm probably not talented enough. I do try to clean the markers up (if possible) before I take the picture. If you see a stone for your family member that needs repair, please contact the cemetery and make a request, most will gladly fix it at no charge.
I've been an avid genealogist with over 40 years experience and would love to hear from you.
In the event you are no longer able to care for your memorials, please think of transfering them to someone who has been on FAG for some time so you know they will be well managed. Unfortunately, there are so many memorials on FAG without managers due to many reasons. Maybe a fallen graver, or the creator/manager may no longer have time or has health issues, all memorials need someone available to add information or transfer. It is so frustrating to try and contact a memorial manager and there is no response.
All transfers must be requested through the edit button on the memorial and I follow the Findagrave guidelines. There are few exceptions. Don't jump on Findagrave and try to start collecting your relatives, I will turn you down "flat" until you are an established contributor. Contributor means just that, you must be contributing. I'm sorry, I've had a number of bad experiences.
I'm sorry, I've had to remove my email address as someone is using it in an abusive way.

|Ellen Dickinson||Delbert J Monasco|
I noticed on Delbert Monasco's site there is a notation that he was the husband of Mary Alice Monasco. I wonder where that information came from. He was married to one of my cousins, Sadie Camren (the name is spelled incorrectly on the marriage record).
Delbert James Monasco
Spouse: Sadie Cameron 19 May 1941
From Oklahoma County Marriage Records 1889-1951 Book 112, Pg 342 (Microfilm)
I don't know if he married Mary Alice in later years, but if he did I can't find a record for it.

|Lisa Pemberton||Barney Lane and family|
Are you related to Barney Lane b: 1818 d: 1881 and family buried at Harmony Cemetery in Hickman Co, KY? He is my great great grandfather. I had set up a page for him but have it under Fulton Co, KY. I thought the cemetery was in Fulton County when I made the memorial for Barney and his wife Mary Jane. Yesterday it was explained to me that the older part where Barney and family are buried is in Hickman County and not Fulton. Due to lack of space they extended the cemetery to the other side of the road which is in Fulton Co, KY. If you are not related to Barney and would consider transferring Barney his wife and children to me I would greatly appreciate it. I have been a member and contributor for a while now. If you do not feel comfortable doing this I understand. If that is the case I would like to send you information to be added to his memorial.

|Catherine Berns||Warren G. Long|
My name is Catherine Berns. Warren was my uncle, my mother's brother. I would really appreciate it if you could transfer his page over to me. My mother's name was Della Marie Long Berns.
|James Gabelmann||John S. McGlasson #121119087|
I have made a grievous error. Uncle John is buried in Rest Haven and I have corrected the memorial. That means the pictures you so kindly took are incorrect. Would you be kind enough to go to Rest Haven for the real John S. McGlasson for me? Thanks for covering my stupidity.

Thanks so much for the reply Sondra.

Sandy, Have you heard of a Haynes cemetery in Hickman County? I'm trying to connect Alice Haynes Arrington (# 67930473) to her family. Have found father William and mother Harriet and connected them. William's father was John (1795-1865) and mother Elizabeth (1804-?). Family records on Ancestry say both are buried in Haynes Cemetery but I can't find any reference to it. Several of their children were also buried there: Martha Jane (1836-1852) & Caroline Haynes McClanahan (1830-1866). I presume it would be a family cemetery on their farm. Have you ever heard of it?
