I have been an active member of findagrave a lot longer than this bio reflects. I am no novice. I first joined under a nickname some years ago. Because of health reasons, I had to leave for a while, but I'm back. |
I love taking cemetery pictures. I try to present them as I actually see them in the cemetery. I don't "fix" them. #1 because they should look natural and #2 because I'm probably not talented enough. I do try to clean the markers up (if possible) before I take the picture. If you see a stone for your family member that needs repair, please contact the cemetery and make a request, most will gladly fix it at no charge.
I've been an avid genealogist with over 40 years experience and would love to hear from you.
In the event you are no longer able to care for your memorials, please think of transfering them to someone who has been on FAG for some time so you know they will be well managed. Unfortunately, there are so many memorials on FAG without managers due to many reasons. Maybe a fallen graver, or the creator/manager may no longer have time or has health issues, all memorials need someone available to add information or transfer. It is so frustrating to try and contact a memorial manager and there is no response.
All transfers must be requested through the edit button on the memorial and I follow the Findagrave guidelines. There are few exceptions. Don't jump on Findagrave and try to start collecting your relatives, I will turn you down "flat" until you are an established contributor. Contributor means just that, you must be contributing. I'm sorry, I've had a number of bad experiences.
I'm sorry, I've had to remove my email address as someone is using it in an abusive way.

Thank you for your persistence attempts at getting this photo. You are very much appreciated!
|Marolyne||Pamela Diane Goodin-Giles|
Thank you for transferring Pam's Find A Grave Memorial to me. I loved her very much. She died of cancer, literally in most of her body. She even had an unoperable tumor in her brain. She was a Christian and had a very loving heart. She was married with two children that she loved very much. They are grown now with children of their own. May the Lord Bless and keep you and all of us who try to "share" and keep memories alive for all those who are left behind. Again, Thank You. Marolyne Jean Rone-Spence, Oklahoma City OK

You're welcome. And I appreciated all your fine efforts as well.
|S. Melton||RE: Elizabeth Cannedy Pitman|
Her Mother was Temperance Spradley, daughter of Demaris Melton Spradley. I am part of the Melton family by marriage. Damaris' brother Wiley Jones Melton is my husband's 3x great grandfather.
I am trying to connect all the members of the tree on here and working with other members of the melton Family Ancestry group.
|Jo Ann Kelly||Rice Duplicates|
Sandy, I found the memorials you were referring to in your suggestions, and have deleted these. I hope you can proceed with transfer of these two, to Paul Sheldon Elliott.
Sorry about my misunderstanding, as I kept going to the wrong memorial in checking out the suggestion.
|Jo Ann Kelly||Responding to your email|
I received an email from you with a suggestion, stating that my memorial #137311658 for Raymond Edgar Rice was a duplicate of your Memorial #111984530 for Ramond P. Rice, if I understand you correctly?
This is not a duplicate, as your memorial was for Raymond Phyllis Rice, infant son of Raymond R. Rice, who was my step-father, and whose grave site is in the Hickman City Cemetery, Fulton Co., Ky., beside my Mother, and not at the Oakwood Cemetery. I was wondering if you were related to the family?
I notice the memorial for Brooks Elliott Rice is a duplicate. I was unaware there was already a memorial, as I am new to posting on Find A Grave. Could you please transfer this memorial to Paul Elliott, who is a direct Elliott descendant and has extensive correct information on the Elliott and Rice descendants,, as well as photographs of deceased family members and their grave sites. I noticed he had left you a message before this message. The picture I shared also has credit given to Paul Sheldon Elliott, who is a cousin. I will delete the one I have made with transfer.
If I has misunderstood your correction, please respond with further explanation.
Thank you, and God bless,
Jo Ann Kelly

I wanted to thank you for the precious time you took to fulfill my photo request for James E. Jr. & Dimple Sharum. Sorry about Viola Dodson. When I checked to see what went wrong. I realized that I accidently put her in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens instead of Sunny Lane.

|Paul Sheldon Elliott||Elliott's in Oakwood Cemetery - Clinton KY|
I've noticed that you have created several FindaGrave memorials for the Elliott family buried in Oakwood Cemetery just outside of Clinton, Kentucky. Are you related in some way?? I am the grandson, great-grand son, etc. etc. to these Elliott's. I would like to take control of these memorials if you would allow, so I can make some edits to the information presented in order to make their information more accurate.
Paul S. Elliott

You're welcome, Sandy. J.
|Carolyn Whaley Vosburg||RE: Georgia Landes Ives|
Georgia Landes Ives is a sister to my grandmother, Ruth Landes Griggs, so she is my great-aunt. My mother was an only child, so my great-aunts were closer to me than most! Aunt Georgia lived two blocks from the university which I attended and I saw her often.
