Time moves quickly, while I've been a member for over 6 1/2 years to this site, I have been working on my family genealogy in spurts for quite some time. I appreciate all of the help people from this site have given me!
Looks like I'm following descendents (YOUNG & SHAW) linked to the Revolutionary War & Mayflower. Exciting!
Today, while entering Woodside interments, the counter entered/turned to 14,000 memorials in the cemetery.
Now that I am doing photo requests, I have developed a deeper respect for those who have been doing it for a long time. It's a lot of work but - quite rewarding at the same time. By following the family name in research and headstone photos, one feels a kinship to that family.
I do ask one favor of anyone who would like to use photos from my memorials. Please ask permission before you "borrow" my images to use in your own tree (it helps me find connections for my own research) and, at the very least, cite my name as the researcher and owner of the image @ Find-a-Grave. Do that as a courtesy to me, since I did do the leg work & am sharing.
Feel free to leave flowers or sponsor any of the memorials. All ladies love flowers. I try to leave flowers @ memorials for young children and veterans.
Strouth I have added the photos of Louise and Flake to your posted memorials per your request and will remove mine from Find A Grave site. Thanks for the logo comment. I have received many comments of the same type. Couldn't help but note your e-mail address of eku.edu. Would that happen to be at Eastern Kentucky University? I am an old "Colonel" having graduated in the class of 1974.
Bessie Sturtz I looked at the index for Bridgetown Cemetery. She is not listed as Sturtz. I tried finding a marriage license for her, but the Hamilton Co, Ohio Probate Court is indexing these and they are not available right now. There are too many Elizabeth and derivatives to know which may be her. I'd say as she grew up in Cheviot area, she most likely would be buried at Bridgetown with her brother.
bessie If she died before the mid 1990s, she should be in the cemetery index. I do not see her under Stolz. I have that index at home. My hubby and I are in the middle of a three week west coast road trip to visit our kids and a cousin. If you don't hear back from me by Oct 10th, please remind me to check. That gives me a couple days to get caught up.
Stolz-Gingerich Hi. I added the corrections you sent me. I no longer live in Ohio. I moved to Ohio in 2011. I do get back there from time to time to visit family. Won't be til at least May of next year for the next trip.
Good catching up with you. I am glad you are continuing researching the family. Do you want me to transfer Ruth to you?
Felix Clark Good evening, Beverly! I've updated Felix with your notes. Thank you so much! I appreciate it. I was wondering if you were a relative. If would, would you like his memorial? I'm not and just didn't want him to be without a memorial.
