Time moves quickly, while I've been a member for over 5 years to this site, I have been working on my family genealogy in spurts for quite some time. I appreciate all of the help people from this site have given me!|
Looks like I'm following descendents (YOUNG & SHAW) linked to the Revolutionary War & Mayflower. Exciting!
Today, while entering Woodside interments, the counter entered/turned to 14,000 memorials in the cemetery.
Now that I am doing photo requests, I have developed a deeper respect for those who have been doing it for a long time. It's a lot of work but - quite rewarding at the same time. By following the family name in research and headstone photos, one feels a kinship to that family.
I do ask one favor of anyone who would like to use photos from my memorials. Please ask permission before you "borrow" my images to use in your own tree (it helps me find connections for my own research) and, at the very least, cite my name as the researcher and owner of the image @ Find-a-Grave. Do that as a courtesy to me, since I did do the leg work & am sharing.
Feel free to leave flowers or sponsor any of the memorials. All ladies love flowers. I try to leave flowers @ memorials for young children and veterans.
Best of luck to us all!

|Becky Bowlin Jansen||Clarence Bowlin memorial|
Hello Beverly--Clarence Bowlin is my father and I was wondering if you would transfer his memorial too me. Thanks so much. I have not checked to see if you have also entered my mother, grandmother, and grandfather who share the same stone but if you have, I would appreciate if you would transfer them too. Thanks so much.

Thanks for your kind words.
In reply, I added an image (I took many years ago) to #87029047, Laney Vanosdol Shaw. Perhaps it will help you!

|Mike Deaton||RE: Silas Deaton|
I have about a dozen emails out to folks so I do not know which Silas Deaton you were speaking of. Can you provide me with a Findagrave ID number. I am probably related to him as I am most Deatons that I have found. So far my database is 55,00+ and climbing.

I can't find a duplicate memorial. I did find one for Joseph Monroe Brown (39467392) which bears the dates on the photo that you placed on my memorial which is for Joseph V. Brown. Your photo on mine is an exact duplicate of the one placed correctly on Joseph Monroe Brown's memorial by Cynthia Caudell. It's very easy to see by the dates involved that your photo needs to be removed as it already exists on the correct memorial.

Beverly - I can't re-check the memorials without the memorial numbers. Unfortunately, the name Joseph Brown is very common. I usually receive or respond to 75-100 emails every day and I can't remember all of the details associated with each. Please remind me what this one was all about. Thanks!
|Rich Kreiss||RE: Your expertize please.|
You'll probably have to purchase it from the State if it's not available from another source like Ancestry.com, etc. I believe Ancestry.com has some death certificates available but not for all years. Of course, if you're not a subscriber you'll have to subscribe before it will be available to you. If you only need a couple of certificates you may be better off ordering them from the State. If you need more then perhaps a subscription to Ancestry.com would be better. Either way it will probably be a little expensive. Good luck with your searching!
