Lucy Gay Atkerson
I recently sent photos of her grave site and also that she was not in the cemetery that she was listed in on F. A. G. She is buried in Caperton (Pinder Hill) a few miles down the road with her first husband. Her second husband is buried at Maxwell Cemetery. Her grave was well kept and she had a very nice large head stone.

I recently sent you some photos of Lucy's grave site. Since then I have learned some of my photos were going out upside down. If this is the case with yours please let me know and I will correct them. We didn't find her in the cemetery where she was listed. Thanks

Parents of Georgia Teresa Abbott?
Hello! My name is Sharon. My great-great-great grandmother is Georgia Teresa Jones Abbott, wife of Henry Marion Abbott. I have been doing research into my family tree, and I hit a roadblock that perhaps you can help me with, please? Do you know the names of Georgia's parents? Any assistance would be very greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Steep Hill
Hello Carol. I wanted to let you know that we are going to hold a gravestone cleaning project at Steep Hill Cemetery if you can let family members know. It will be March 29th starting at 10:00. The details are posted to the Steep Hill Cemetery Facebook page which you can view if you are a member or not. If for any reason the weather is bad, we will bump it back a week. Thanks for all you have done to help get the cemetery documented. I appreciate you!!!

Thomas Atkerson
My name is Carol Davis-Ulmer and I would like to ask you a question about Thomas Atkerson you say is burried on Sand Mountain. I was wondering if this is my Great Great Grandfater Josphus Thomas "Tom" Atkerson, because he married Martha Lula Carroll? Josphus Thomas "Tom" Atkerson was my great grandfathers father, Jefferson Davis Atkerson is my great grandfather. On the findagrave website Sand Mountain says next to it that it is no cemetery? Is it a family cemetery? Is Thomas and a child all that is buried there? Or are there more graves. My email is

REPLY: Hi, Carol. My mom visited Stevenson, Alabama in 1990 and she was taken to the gravesite of Tom Atkerson. The relatives which showed her the two graves didn't know who the child was and those are the only two graves that they could identify. I am unsure if other family members are buried there or not, but I suspect they are, but there are no stones.
