Retired and now live in Gainesville, FL. Family history research has been a passion since 1973. |
Please use the edit tab to request changes to any of my memorials. I will gladly transfer any memorial not in my family tree.
Please feel free to use my photographs for genealogy purposes, but please ask if you would like to use my photographs for another Find A Grave memorial which gives me the option to upload a better picture to that memorial.
The memorials created and managed originate from gravestone pictures or burial records and not from recent obituaries unless the obituary proves accurate.
My father's families being researched: George: Blackmun, Briggs, Gardiner, Hardy, Kennedy (Canada), Lilley, McCallum, Paxton, Tindall, Thompson (England), Watson, and Winch.
My mother's Families researched: Wilson: Andre, Blessing, Cochran, Cross, Fiscus, Jackson, McKinstry, Ross, Sober, and Stephens.
Carole's families researched: Gibson: Bechtel, Boling, Catron, Clark, Combs, Etheridge, Hurlbut, Misenheimer and Tarvin.
Carole and I are members of the
Tarvin Family Association and volunteer to take tombstone photographs and record memorials for the Association.

Thanks for the info. I have a McKinstry family tree at Ancestry.com which I am in the process of expanding and sourcing. I have pictures, the best being of the Edward P. McKinstry family circa 1905 - Edward, his wife Anna Mary and all seven children, their spouses and grandchildren then existing. I have individual pictures of some of the children of Edward, some obits and funeral cards. I have an genealogy book of the descendants of Thomas Gilmore Apple which includes 2 or 3 generations of McKinstrys. My Great Aunt Elizabeth Gibble Krueger, daughter of Maude Apple McKinstry Gibble kept a scrap book of pictures and newspaper clippings. If you have a particular interest, I can see whats there. I have a fair amount of research for the Apple line, if that's of interest to you.

I am Edward P. McKinstry's ggggranddaughter. His death certificate states he was born in Chambersburg, his father is James McKinstry and his mother is Susan Payson. This is contrary to everything else, the bio on the F-a-Grave website of Wm. McKinstry, Edward's baptismal record, his obituary and the Census which fits him neatly in birth order of the Wm D. children. But Susan as mother does explain his middle name. I have not found a James McKinstry or a Susan Payton who could be mom and dad. The informant on the death certificate is William McKinstry (no middle initial) of Lancaster. Do you have any insights on this problem which I despair of ever resolving?
Also,is the "other" William mentioned on the FAGrave website the one who married a "Miss Huston" in Mercersburg about 1803? Thank you. Sherrie Gibble

Do you by chance have any more Cheney headstone photos for the above cemetery?

That's great. Now if I could just get the other six memorials moved, Findagrave could delete the duplicate cemetery. I'll keep trying. Chris

Hi Thomas: I see that you enter this memorial in Rose Hills Cemetery in Orange Co., CA. However, there is no Rose Hills Cemetery in Orange Co., CA. The Rose Hills Cemetery is located in Whittier, Los Angeles Co., CA and has over 200,000 burials. Findagrave has been unable to delete this erroneous Rose Hills as requests for the memorial maker to transfer their memorials to the real Rose Hills Memorial Park have not been made. I hope this information is helpful to you in placing your loved in the real Rose Hills. Chris

Yes, that will be fine and then I can delete the duplicates.
Yes, I plan on entering the rest of the cemetery from burial and death records. There are some that I have entered that do not have markers.
