I was born and raised in Atlanta, but have lived most of my adulthood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Coincidentally I ended up right where my roots are on my father's side of the family. Genealogy is my passion and I never met a cemetery I didn't like. I'm also into historic preservation, both of buildings and the lives of people no longer with us.|
As the daughter of a general and great-granddaughter of 3 Confederate veterans, I like to note military records of veterans on their findagrave memorials.
I welcome corrections/additions, but will no longer link to a "burial unknown" person. I have found this leads to duplicates.
FAMILIES ON MY FATHER'S SIDE: Irwin, DeWeese, Blackwelder, Babcock, Taylor, Wilbon.
FAMILIES ON MY MOTHER'S SIDE: Bryan, Battle, Pope, Atkinson, Yarbrough, Chappell.

he died when my mother was in her teens...thank you for making it possible for me to see his grave, as due to health issues I may never be able to see his grave in person...he is my maternal grandfather, whom I never got to meet, as he died when my mother was in her teens, and may have died from the same condition which nearly killed me in my mid 30s...I hope that if he has any other descendants anywhere, that they will have themselves screened to confirm or rule out Marfan's Syndrome. We are convinced he may have died from a Marfan's related aortic dissection, which in my mid-30s I narrowly escaped dying from...please urge any of his descendants or relatives to be checked for the condition...it could save some lives out there...thank you..

I'm working Elmwood cemetery in Colorado, close to my home and added Forest and his wife. I try to add as much as I can and found his parents so linked them. I saw you added a photo of them and found they are part of your family. I'll gladly transfer them to you if you want. I put in a request for a photo of Max'x site before I found the connection to you.

Thank you so much for the photo of Edward's grave marker. I live in Western Pennsylvania and that cemetery is too great a distance for me.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the gravestone photo's you took. Barney, Fannie and Wanda were family to me, not by blood but I knew them from VERY early childhood until their deaths. and sometimes that is more of a bond. I continued to pray someone would see my request since I'm 1000 miles from Charlotte now and unable to visit their graves. Thank you so very much! God bless you. Patti

Susan, Thank you for adding a photo to the memorial for my uncle in the Sharon Memorial Park. We probably never would have been able to take this photo ourselves so it means a lot to us. We appreciate your find a grave work very much.

Susan, re Sarah Savanna, Grant's wife (Find A Grave Memorial# 86449660), my research indicates her maiden name was Williams (from marriage and census records). I admire the amount of effort you're putting into this project.
|Kevin D. Smith||RE: Julian & Ellie Smith|
Thank you Susan for the good job you do. Yes, I would appreciate the transfer as Julian Sr and Ellie Smith are my grandparents, Julian Jr my father. I commend those like yourself who have committed to so many memorials. I will do my best to maintain the integrity of any memorials I am entrusted with. My present interest is for my own family members. Thank you again.
