Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Atlanta, but have lived most of my adulthood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Coincidentally I ended up right where my roots are on my father's side of the family. Genealogy is my passion and I never met a cemetery I didn't like. I'm also into historic preservation, both of buildings and the lives of people no longer with us.

As the daughter of a general and great-granddaughter of 3 Confederate veterans, I like to note military records of veterans on their findagrave memorials.

I welcome corrections/additions, but will no longer link to a "burial unknown" person. I have found this leads to duplicates.

FAMILIES ON MY FATHER'S SIDE: Irwin, DeWeese, Blackwelder, Babcock, Taylor, Wilbon.

FAMILIES ON MY MOTHER'S SIDE: Bryan, Battle, Pope, Atkinson, Yarbrough, Chappell.

RE: Katie Rowe
Thanks for the reply. I did not realize Katie was in the columbarium. I thought she was buried in the cemetery. Thanks for the photo! Randy Rowe

Military records
Susan,
My name is Susan Branon and I too live in Charlotte,NC. In fact, I am a fourth generation Charlottean. I am trying to find out information about my father-in-law's military service in WWI in Paris. Yes, that is WWI. He was nearly 50 when my husband was born! If you could lead me to links that would provide information I would greatly appreciate it. I am a member of Ancestry.com but am just learning how to negotiate the site. I found you through this site after locating the page about his grave in Sharon Memorial cemetery.
Thanks so much.

I was researching my Mother's side of my family and came across the find a grave for my Grandmother and Grandfather. Thank you so much for the picture and contribution. I live out of state and I have not been able to visit their grave. You don't know how much this means to me that someone took the time to take a photo and submit it. It brought tears!! Thank you again!

Thank you so much for documenting the gravestone of my father. Sharon Memorial ordered his marker and his name was spelled wrong and nobody caught it until I saw it on the find a grave website. Thank you! They since have ordered a new one and said that it is now spelled correctly. Could you possibly update the picture?
