Bio

I am VP of Tennessee Valley Genealogical Society and past President. I reside in Huntsville, AL. I am retired from Sears after 30 years.

I have been researching my family since about the age of 16.

The oldest ancestor is Barnabas (Barney) Michael born abt 1769 in North Carolina. He was first found in Jefferson County, TN about 1800 and by 1805 was in Grainger Co., TN.on a tax roll with 150 acres of land, and also there in the 1820 Census. Then he moved to Monroe county and was there in the 1830 census, but immediately move to Carroll Co., GA. Barney was age 81 in the 1850 census of Carroll Co., GA. and then no further record of death and burial.

He and wife, Catherine Had children, Barnabas B., James, William, Peter, Katherine and Sarah.

I am descended from his son, William, then William Russell, then William Lumpkim and then Claude Jerome Michael and then Elmer E. Michael
