Bertha Oldham
Hi Kathy,
I'm creating a walking tour of Fargo's Riverside Cemetery and I would like to highlight Mrs. Bertha Oldham. Can you tell me anything about her, or about why one son was buried in Riverside though the family had moved on to CA by the time he passed?
Thank you!

Mathans
There's an infant name Teresa Mathans, who died on July 24, 1954 and was buried at Rose Hills Memorial Park.

Since there are very few Mathans buried at this cemetery, I was wondering if you knew if Paul Mathans was the father of this infant.

If you want to reply, you may use the "Edit" link on this memorial:

Thank you for your time and help!

RE: Nancy Jane Barrett Harris
Would you care to have management of the memorial transferred to you? It would be no problem if you provide me with your membership number.

Nancy Jane was certainly a young one. WOW!

Kathy, Nancy's father died recently. Would you please link him to Nancy? Her Find A Grave # is 81162462 and her dad's Find A Grave # is155378266' He died very recently.

I ask this in the interest of linking the family.

Thanks, Dot O'Donnell

Eliza
Hey Kathy I remembered reading something about Eliza and the Shipley family on the Madison County Pioneer Cemeteries website page for Bunker...here is the excerpt:
**********************************************
Something that was customary for pioneers to do was to take custody of neighbors' children orphaned by tragedy. Margaret Shipley may very well illustrate this. Davis genealogist Pam Brown has not found any Shipley connection to the Davis-Scott extended family; yet, a Margaret Shipley is listed on various census records as a child and later as a young adult living with members of the Elisha Davis family. There are no family stories or records that explain Margaret's placement in the Davis homes. It is assumed that young Margaret was related to the Eliza Shipley listed below, who died in 1849. Margaret was possibly taken in because of some tragedy in the Shipley family, and, as was the custom, cared for by the Davises
************************************************
It may not be of much help but I thought I'd share it with you :)

RE: Elizabeth Shipley
You are so very very welcome Kathy!!! I'm just glad that I found it for you :) Love it when I can help someone in the hunt for a loved one! I'm still looking for my 3rd G Grandfather, Elijah Galbreath, and haven't even found a location of death or year yet :( It's like he just disappeared and it was around 1870-1880 and so many records during those years have been lost due to court house fires and such. I've added additional photos of the cemetery and surrounding stones by Elizabeth and if I can help you with any other quest please feel free to get hold of me. Happy Saturday!
Colleen
