Bio

Hello fellow genealogy hunters. I'm new to the website but, have been dabbling in genealogy for several years as a helper to my late Aunt who was our family historian and who traced one of our family lines back to Europe. I fell heir to her records after her untimely passing in 2001 and they sat idle in my house for a few years because I didn't have the patience to do genealogy the way my Aunt did it throughout her life; she never had a typewriter and never touched a computer so, everything was written by hand and put through the snail mail. She would spend days and days at our main Library in Springfield, MO. and she belonged to the Ozarks' Genealogical Society. After I became disabled, a good friend decided I needed a hobby so, he gave me a second hand computer and taught me how to use it. It has been slow going but, I have learned enough to keep myself busy. Several cousins discovered I had a computer and begged me to take up where my aunt left off so, I've been up and running for about four years now. My Aunt wished years ago that, there was some way to make a central data bank for all the cemeteries for people who couldn't get to the ones they needed information from. I'm sure my Aunt, who loved genealogy, would be on the "Find a Grave" website 24 hours a day! I'm mainly concentrating on putting family and extended family or people that I know from our area in our cemeteries.
Happy hunting.
