Bio

I grew up driving my elderly great grandparents to Decoration Day at various cemeteries in north Alabama near Scottsboro. I was only 8 or so at the time (it was the country and no one cared if you had a license or not) and the stories they would share about those departed fascinated me. Luckily I had the good sense to write them down and ask lots of questions. When my GreatGrandmother would want to communicate something that might have been considered "scandalous" about a departed relative, she'd bend down and cup her hands around my ears and whisper the information. More than 50 years later, I'm still hooked on personal histories and all cemeteries.
