Mildred M Johnston (1915-)
Hello. This memorial was transfered to you - are you related to her? I am looking for a blood relative Mildred May Castor (Mrs Marlin - sp?) Johnston, daughter of Effie Mae Young and Francis Aldon Castor (Missouri), and half-siblings with Samuel Young Cummings (1953-1959 Kansas City MO). When Samuel died in 1959, my Mildred May Castor Johnston was living in Sacramento California. Mildred is a 2ND cousin with my paternal grandfather. I have all of these other people linked to their ancestors and would like to find my Mildred to link her, too, and Mildred's daughter. Thank you for your time and consideration.

RE: Day & Dowling plot, Section 52, Plot 38
Hello again Janet

Many thanks to you and Kurt for adding the GPS and photos of the Day/Dowling grave in Mountain View- and so quickly.

Margaret Dowling, her son Thomas Henry and her daughter Towena once lived on Yerba Buena Island. They were put off it around 1869 according to the following history:

There is supposed to be a grave on the hilltop marked D.R.A Dowling. Details are in the paragraph titled: "Childhood Tragedy"

Would it be much trouble to see if someone could seek out that site?

I dont meant to take advantage of your help so don't feel obliged to act... any advice will help.

Day & Dowling plot, Section 52, Plot 38
Hello Janet

Would it be possible for you to estimate the location on the Day & Dowling plot in Mountainview Cemetery, please?

I would like to add the lat/lon cords to direct a family member who will visit in the coming months.
I use google maps to esitmate it:

I was not able to judge the location from your photographs of the plot - near the treelined ridge of rise of ground.

Any help/ advice appreciated.

RE: Ruth Watkins
Her marriage record to James Benson 8/3/1830, Howard, MO on spells the name as Switzler. Also I came across a bio on her son, Henry, with that spelling for Ruth-could be incorrect. Unfortunately, I do not know the names of her parents.

Several years ago I visited Elmira Cemetery in Vacaville CA. where my 3x great grandfather Josiah Root is buried. The office person wrote down the plot information for Josiah’s grave and his daughter Ann Elizabeth Frazer and family’s grave location the way it is written in their records. I still have that piece of paper.

Your edit information would remove the space information for the Frazer family. This is not acceptable because there is only one stone for the family. The office person explained that because there is no death date in their records for Lillie Frazer and she is in space 1 it tells them she died before her brother Ralph who died 31 July 1873 as he is in space 2.

I have explained this to Kurt Hess two times now, so hopefully you will understand why removing the space locations on the Frazer's family’s graves is not going to happen.
